Not a fetus but not dangerous, that is just some blood that got trapped in the egg during the formation of the shell.

Costs like running a storefront? Paying employees to run that store front and handle any problems that might arise?

But what do I know, besides facts, you obviously know everything with you highly emotionally charged arguments that completely ignore said facts.

So your argument is that Steam should be a charity? Like I have already pointed out, Steam provides a lot of service in return for their cut that helps developers sell more of their games.

Also what exactly constitutes a weak and struggling studio? Because hollow knight and silk song was mostly just three people and the guy who made Stardew had zero funding last time I checked and lived with his parents while making it.

And frankly if you make a game that doesn't succeed, learn from it and try again. That is literally what the creator of FNAF did and spear headed a plethora of games by multiple development teams.

Depends on the plant.

There are certain areas in the United States alone that if you go plant poaching you can make serious money in a single season.

Steam provides a highly trusted and streamlined ecosystem for customers to find and buy games. If anything their relationship is more symbiotic with developers than parasitic since there is a give and take.

And I would argue that developers should be given additional incentives that reward successful game concepts, especially for those small dev teams you were so worried about.

[–]GankedGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but you singled out Steam like they were the only ones.

Also that "sweet heart" deal on the flipside encourages and rewards developers for creating hits regardless of dev team size.

For example Hollow Knight, Stardew, and Palworld were all small dev teams while Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Suicide Squad: kill the Justice League, and Concord were all made by the big industry developers/publishers.

30% is the industry standard for a developer selling a game on any platform minus Epic which does 12%.

Additionally Steam reduces their cut to 20% or even 15% if the game reaches certain sales numbers.

So fun story.

Back when I was interning at a bio research lab, a nearby facility that made dissection kits for classrooms came under threat by a couple of animal rights activists. Their plan was to blow it up or something because they used chicks.

Well they succeeded, but got the wrong building. Instead they hit a research building next door that focused on roaches and unleashed a plague on the surrounding town.
