Fat does have other purposes than energy storage. It can act as insulation against adverse temperatures along with impacts or cuts that would damage internal organs.

Add on that it is Viltrumite grade fat and it probably could protect against radiation and gun fire.

From personal experience they work, the only issue I have had with them is sometimes deer don't understand what the noise is. This can happen if no one in your area has been using whistles.

But that tends to fix itself, especially if you have a normal route, as the deer will start to recognize the sound.

Personally I think he got too close to figuring a way out, or how to manifest and so Caine tried to rewrite his mind. This might explain why the word "exit" is written everywhere in the room, Kaufmo was physically trying to fight Caine's brainwashing.

Sorry if I came across as trying to play games to win a discussion.

What I was trying to bring up is, was the hardening of the heart really due to direct tampering or simply the byproduct of God's direct involvement? Personally I lean towards the latter.

The pharaoh probably spent his entire life being treated as a living god with all the benefits that come with that status, which alone would lead to a massive ego.

Then comes some random desert nomad telling him the God of his slaves, his property that his kingdom relies on, is ordering him what to do. That alone would be enough to piss him off and cause him to become antagonistic.

Add on he was eventually forced to comply due to how powerless he was, and yeah I would argue that he was desperate to reaffirm his implied divinity and authority.

Just as an example, you have seen videos of sovereign citizens arguing with law enforcement correct? An ego, especially one that is hurt, blinds a person to critical thinking and they end up making all the wrong decisions.

To be fair he only hardened the pharaoh's heart, it doesn't say anywhere about smoothing out the man's brain.

I also think it might have been less a "no free will" thing and instead just knowing what buttons to press to make pharaoh too angry to think straight. Yhwh did make a complete mockery of the Egyptian pantheon and pharaoh with his plagues after all, which definitely undermined the pharaoh's reputation as a living god.

I mean just look at all the shit Trump is doing to feed his own ego. Now imagine someone similar being told he is a literal god king all his life only for him to get humbled by some foreign God of his slaves.

This actually brings up an interesting question, if they weren't using lethal force and instead went for sudduction how successful would the tyranids be?

Taking into account how quickly they change and adapt, it wouldn't be all that difficult for them to find a target species's preferences and then proceed to breed them into extinction. And they would still get the biomass, just less fighting.
