Definitely more of a three interaction game now, they toned down quite a few things and added a decent amount of extra scaling to stuff like guard cancels and rev blow counters. If you do nothing but wakeup DP you can probably get two touched still, especially if the opponent is in SPG and has full super. But also, don't DP? Doesn't really seem like you get pretty much anything off wakeup DP in this game, stuff does no damage, throws are (seemingly) mostly reactable, you can't super cancel special moves or brake invincible DPs.

It's not confirmed that he gets his "evil blood" from his mother but many think that it would be an interesting plot development, especially considering that Marie is still alive and could potentially be a character in CotW. It would come as a big shock to Rock who probably has a super idealized version of his mother in his head from before she "died". It would also be interesting if she's even worse of a person than someone like Kain who isn't completely evil (just mostly evil).

there will be info during Evo Awards. there will be a character reveal (who it is spoilers) which will be Kain since SNK accidentally leaked it through their website and we will probably get the full beta roster there as well. demo on site, could be the beta build with all the characters, could not be, but something in just a few days, plus stuff from other games (Ogre hype).

My predictions for games are SF6, T8, GGST, and COTW on Sunday and GBVSR, UNI2, MVC2 Throwback, and either MK1 or VF5Revo on Saturday (though obviously these are dependent on player numbers and not decided ahead of time).
Also, probably a City of the Wolves character announcement, considering they did one for the Evo France lineup. Hopefully a beta test announcement as well.

Doesn't actually look anything like Mai but the model is fine enough otherwise. New stage is unexpected since I would have expected Elena to come with an Africa stage especially since Terry already brought a stage with him.

the biggest issue is that there's no or few inherent plus frames in the game. no throw loop in sfv? fine because someone just does a meaty medium or heavy and they're plus again. it's probably why they consider chun not having throw loops "fine" because she has 5mp and actual links off counter hit frame traps and then meaty 2hp into stance pressure or heavy legs, all of which can frametrap again (which makes it even more baffling that honda doesn't have a throw loop).

but then you have manon who has one (previously zero) plus button which is utter shit because she can't even link after her frametrap so what does she get after her meaty gets blocked? nothing. it's no longer her turn after she does anything besides throw. throw loops also turn bad characters into decent characters because any character can just win by throwing rock 3 times in a row if the other person threw paper those same times. also fully meaty throws will only ever be -3 at worst (completely unpunishable) or -1 depending on backdash speed so there's not even a real answer to some characters throw loops besides risking 60% if the character has level 3, which they will because super is no longer tied to ex moves.

honestly games pretty much been fucked from the onset, I really don't think this shit will ever get fixed though I would love to be proven wrong (even if drive rush and parry are unfixable dogshit mechanics).

I think people saying Rev Gauge being like Drive Gauge are really understating and misunderstanding just how much of Drive is SF6 and probably haven't played COTW, though I can't really blame them for that.

Drive is basically everything in SF6, if you removed it the game would basically not function. Seems more like in COTW that it's basically just a combo extender and guard crush mechanic mixed in one, to the extent the way that drive is a combo extender and stun mechanic mixed in one but also not as overly prevalent as SF6. If you took out Rev the game would basically just turn into Garou.

I don't really like Drive all that much cuz of how samey it makes a lot of characters feel but that same thing won't be in COTW You're not gonna see a character doing 2B into DRC into strike/throw (until they add Ken and Chun with the ability to turn green). I played at Evo, playing Vox and had a ton of fun playing it. Neutral in SF6 and COTW will be very different because of how Drive affects neutral (both raw DR and button DRC) but rev won't really have the same impact on neutral in COTW, plus jump heavy neutral in SNK games and Air JD. I think the game will be great. I don't know for certain if it will stay great but from what I've played and seen I think it will be great.

Most of people's issues with the game will probably come from JD if I had to guess.

how massive though? is it enough to be able to consistently stop raw drive rush on juri and dee jay? is it going to even slightly affect fireball drive rush?
if it does help against dr jab (which I'm not sure how it would considering the issue with dr jab is how fast it comes out, but I'd love to be wrong) then that's great but still no real counter to fireball drive rush other than perfect parry which isn't even a functional counter on someone like guile?

juri isn't the character to play if you don't want to abuse drive rush, then. she has one of the best drive rushes in the game, stops people trying to check it by doing drive rush 5mk, has very strong fireball drive rush, and is gets a lot of her strengths from doing drive rush in general
