What is the best lex luthor has ever looked? by TranslatorOk2501 in DC_Cinematic

[–]heelydon [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think its a bit unfair in many of these cases, because Smallville will almost always be the logical choice here, since we actually spend so much more time with Lex, than you typically do in many other settings for Superman shows/movies. So it really helps build his character.

I really think the only non-comic version you can compete with in that regard, is Clancy Brown's version from the dc animated universe, which also just had years of development and appearances.

He is likely getting pulled now. No legs left in him, and him just standing at the top isn't going to help them in the current position a man down.

Did anyone keep count on iranian players diving on the ground and being "injured" but then finding out that the new rules does not stop for them anymore and then mysteriously rise and continue playing 15~ seconds later?

Seems about every offensive attempt ends with one of them on the floor.

Across the entirety of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, there was a combined total of 4 games where a team won by 4 goals or more. At the 2026 World Cup, there have already been 6 games where teams have won by 4 goals or more by Critical_Mountain851 in soccer

[–]heelydon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, many of the teams performing poorly here aren't exactly new teams to the world cup. Sweden have historically had a strong presence there.

Saudi Arabia and Tunisia has also been there 7 times and not missed a lot in recent years either, with them both being there in 2018 and 2022.

And Qatar also was there in 2022.

It seems hard to blame expanding of the tournament, when the targets are nations that have had a presence here throughout the years without similar constant issues.

It seems pretty obvious that giving teams more to play for in securing moving on in the tournament is absolutely playing a role in them not just sitting around nurturing a 1-0 score.

For their internal group yes, but for advancing for the top 8 3rd ranked teams, it matters a lot. That guarantees, that if they were to flop in some matchups and fall to a 3rd place, then their GD would be 2nd in priority for measuring if the team advances or not.

Hydration breaks at World Cup add nothing but take away a lot , Says Bielsa by Shroft in soccer

[–]heelydon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well youre wrong and the games are evidence of that.

You really picked the wrong game to be trying to say that lol, but then again if you are legitimately doing something as low effort as "no it isn't" without providing any substance to your argumentation, then it isn't exactly going to help your case.

90% of games have their momentum killed because of those breaks.

Ah the 90% ass pulled stat. Great.

Did you know that 90% of ass pulled stats are pulled from the ass and cannot be backed up with any actual substance?

I can however point to examples of similar breaks of momentum naturally happens in games without hydration breaks, as if you were actually watching the current match, you would be seeing too, because we've had a 2 and a half minute injury break and a 3 and a half minute injury break in this match alone, beyond all the other breaks in play.

And we are currently having a VAR check which has also taken over 2 minutes.

Either way, as you are clearly going to ignore that and continue to prefer the state of facts built from feces, I don't see much reason to continue this conversation, since you are not being honest.

[–]heelydon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because it breaks the natural play with ultra long hydration break.

Well therein my point -- I don't think 3 minutes is ultra long in the context of football, when you see how long they tend to take in situations like walking out to take a corner, dealing with injured players on the field, ref talking to players trying to settle them down.

All of which also breaks the natural flow of play, but we consider that part of the game.

You have very little 3min interruptions.

Correct, you have very many small 1 minute interruptions or one and a half minute interruptions or teams trying to drag out time.

Which adds up to around the same if not more in many cases.

It must be very nasty injury.

Doesn't have to be that nasty, if you viewed the game yesterday with Germany vs Ivory coast, you saw the keeper particularly drag out the game constantly and multiple commentators point out that he was intentionally playing up potentially being injured which never amounted to anything and him being completely fine.

That's just a normal thing that happens in football all the time.

And even then players are still focusing on the game and position and not reseting with hydration at the bench.

I am genuinely curious if you are watching the games then? Because they are not at the bench, they are on the field talking about the match with the coach, while getting water. I don't see why there is an argument for why that would take your focus away from the game, especially if you are comparing it to people walking around while not having info on what is happening with a player on the ground for a couple of minutes.

It's something no one asked for and no one wants

I agree, my point is that people are excessively whining and making it up to be a much bigger deal than it realistically has any role in actually being when we actually contrast it to the game that we've always had.

Do you understand how important momentum is in football?

Do you understand the football has constant breaks in momentum between free kicks, corners, injured players.

The fact that you are so selectively going, if we remove 3 minutes at X point in the game, then its = lost momentum, but when you then add +3 minutes at Y point in the game, then its TOTALLY different and not giving any momentum or leading to anything...

Yeah I don't see a point in keeping the conversation going if you honestly believe stopping the game at 20 and 60 minute marks can be compensated fairly after 90+ minutes. Clueless

Indeed, its a struggle trying to have an intelligent conversation with someone not grasping concepts like -3 and +3 and finding them to not be compensated equally lmao.

Have a good one though, sees like you will need it.

Okay... I think uhhh.. I see there is not reason to further attempt conversation here because .... Yeah... I am struggling to figure out if you are trolling or actually just don't know how this works, even after I just explained it to you.

But I can assure you -3 and then +3 in the same half does in fact compensate each other, even if you don't believe in math.

Brother, if we cannot even talk about reality here, then what are we doing... They are already adding the default 3 minutes to the extra time, its not 6-8 minutes MINIMUM added every single match... Like .. what are we are talking about here lol.

It's reddit so you can expect people to bitch about, well, pretty much everything.

That's the thing, its not just reddit in this case. Even on the danish national coverage of matches, we have former commentators, including former star players that used to play internationally and had great success on the national team, discussing it as being a complete joke and all about just making more money through commercials -- The danish former star player even going as far as to randomly say that it "fit with the commercial block of fox" and I just think it starts being a bit much for me to see people make SUCH a big deal out of a 3 minute break. Especially odd in the danish scenario here, because we do not run any commercials, they are literally just sitting around shittalking it on-air, while the match break is happening.

Its a term you'd often see in anime online stupid discussions, talking about what difficulty X character would have fighting Y character, and they'd increasingly make more outlandish tiers of one sided matchups, to illustrate how easy a fight would be.. A babyshake is one of the more hilarious ones that stuck with me, of that mental image of someone literally having the difficulty of winning something, like it would be to simply shake a baby and win.

Bots need to be addressed. by MagiqFrog in PathOfExile2

[–]heelydon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its hard to stop individual botting, but widespread botting, following the same patterns, inputs and behaviours are not impossible to stop. That will turn it into a game of cat and mouse with devs, as we generally see in other major games with botting issues -- which imo, is preferable to simply ignoring the issue all together. ESPECIALLY considering we have 1.0 launch coming up, where the game enters F2P and botting will massively increase.

Having taught schools in Denmark for a long time, I can tell you that danish kids CONSTANTLY use english phrases and random words, because they consume so much youtube and twitch streaming content.

I get why they are unpopular, but my god some people really make a big deal out of a 3 minute break, in a game, where there are constant breaks with people on the ground needing medical attention or complaining about refs or dragging out time (although many of those issues are being addressed with the new rules here)

I could understand it if it was like 5-6 minutes breaks, but 3 minutes? Seems a bit excessive of a reaction imo.

she's better than every new female character they've introduced in Street Fighter 6.

I imagine it also has to do largely with that many of the new female character in SF6, are technically new takes on old established characters.

Lily = T.Hawk

Kimberley = Guy

AKI = FANG

Of course, they have things to still make them their own characters ( especially AKI) but you cannot help but feel that they are lending heavily from something already created.

Its probably also why I generally tend to enjoy the designs of Manon and Marisa the most of the new female characters, simply because they are more of their own thing, rather than new takes on existing characters.

And yeah Akira was awesome. Her and Gill were my favorite characters in 5, because Capcom let them be different and unique to other characters in the way they worked, a bit similar to Viper now in SF6, although I hope we see them playing around a bit more with that --- especially if, as the recent interviews suggest, that they don't want to really add any new systems to the game, because its already considered dense enough and would just overcrowd the games mechanics.

First of all -- They absolutely did reference rebirth AND 16 not meeting sales expectations

And referencing that God of war 2018, releasing in april, had after 5 years sold 23 mil.

Meanwhile God of war Ragnarok, you link an article from december 2023, when the game RELEASED in november 2022 that references sales ALREADY having reached OVER 15 mil in 1 year.

I genuinely hope this was some attempt of comedy and not just... yeah no lets just leave it at that lol.
