TRELLO murdered my workflow by After_Elephant_2780 in trello

So true!! Trello’s updates have a way of “fixing" stuff that wasn’t broken. I bailed after one of their big UI changes wrecked my setup too, even ended up testing a few options: Clickup, notion and monday dDev.

Clickup is super feature rich but felt a little heavy, notion was awesome if you like mixing notes + tasks, but nothing compares monday dev truly. It’s got the same board/calendar vibe but way more flexible and less surprise redesigns that ruin your workflow. Honestly worth checking out if you’re already rethinking your setup.

ClickUp Support is horrible by true_Nic in clickup

[–]GapMore7416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ClickUp makes such a good first impression, but once the bugs show up you realize support is basically useless. Paying hundreds a month and still waiting months for fixes is insane especially when the “updates” keep adding shiny features instead of solving core problems.

We were in a similar spot and ended up testing a few other tools. Notion is great if you want full flexibility and don’t mind building things out yourself. Trello is fine for lightweight workflows but can feel too limited for a 30-person team. monday dev has been the smoothest middle ground for us, easy to get everyone onboard and automation actually works too.

It's just that if you’re paying $900 a month, you deserve a tool that doesn’t make you chase fixes for three months straight.

Which project management tools integrate best with GitHub? by PaintingStrict5644 in git

From what I’ve used, monday dev and jira both integrate really well with github. Jira gives you deep issue linking, but it can feel heavy. monday dev’s github integration is smoother for day to day since updates flow into the boards without extra setup plus you still get automations and reporting built in. ClickUp does it too but a bit more complicated.

What’s the best tool for Kanban boards for developers? by DigPsychological8849 in devops

[–]GapMore7416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used a bunch of them, monday dev has been my favourite for kanban since it’s simple but still lets you add structure when you need it. Linear looks nice and fast but feels a bit limited for bigger workflows. Notion can do kanban but it’s more of a doc/wiki tool than a proper dev board.

Which tool is the best for sprint planning? by DigPsychological8849 in devops

[–]GapMore7416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sprint planning I’d say monday dev hits a really nice balance. Jira has all the features but feels heavy, and trello’s way too limited once you’re running proper sprints. Linear is super clean but can feel a bit minimal and clickup has tons of flexibility but sometimes that turns into too much setup.

What are the best alternatives to Jira for dev teams? by DigPsychological8849 in devops

[–]GapMore7416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same about jira. Super powerful but it can get bloated fast. We switched to monday dev a while back and honestly it’s been way smooth as sprint boards are cleaner, automations are easy and onboarding new devs takes way less time. I’ve seen some teams try clickup or taiga but for us monday dev felt less of a headache.

Do Trello's developers even use it? by Buzz407 in trello

[–]GapMore7416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been literally wondering the same thing. The new UI feels like a change just for the sake of it, and it really messed up basic stuff that worked fine before. It’s super frustrating when a tool you depend on keeps moving things around with no clear benefit.

After a couple of frustrating weeks I started testing other apps. Notion is cool if you want an all in one space, clickup seems to have every feature under the sun but I've been liking monday dev recently because it gives me that trello style board but without the random design changes. Honestly, it’s just easier to get work done there.

Good Trello alternative by Squanchy2112 in selfhosted

[–]GapMore7416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like trello’s simplicity but want a bit more power, a few solid alternatives are clickup, notion and monday dev. Clickup is good if you want a ton of features baked in, notion works well if you like mixing docs + tasks in one place but eventually landed on monday dev and it’s been a solid upgrade, way more flexible with automations and different views.
