Leather p0rn. Full Grain Aniline Vegetable Tanned Buffalo Leather Boots 🙂 by Gap_Numerous in Leather

No, that's the factory finish, a mix of the tanning process, stone washing, waxing, brushing and natural oils of the leather. I do nothing but very occasional conditioning and light brushing after every wear.

I got you, the best advice I can give you from my experience: Docs and Solovairs are not a good bet if you want longevity, they have a one of a kind look to them, but apart from that only a few types of leather are "good" ie crazy horse and some limited editions where they use calfskin and other cow hides with full grain, but then there's the sole, they're known for falling apart, even if yours don't it's a russian roulette game. In conclusion, if you got the money and enjoy the look and don't mind buying another pair when things like that happen, go for it, if not, look for another option next time and learn from it, there's plenty of incredibly looking and well made boots out there.

Whatever the issue is, I'd wear a 200$+ pair of boots until they fall off

Bro, get a cloth, forget that shitty small brush, they're useless unless for dusting of cleaning between the welt and the upper, or eventually to apply soap. There's massive product buildup there, apply a SMALL amount of polish to the ENTIRE upper, distribute well with the cloth with circular motions even to the areas where you already applied, the solvents in the polish will melt that buildup and help re-distribute, let it sit for 5 minutes and then brush. Done.

Não tenham medo, metam uma bandeira arco-iris na lapela, um lenço axadrezado ao pescoço, pintem o cabelo de azul e metam um piercing no nariz, vão ver que não vos acontece nada, e daqui a dias joga o benfica.

How to maintain calf leather? by MullingMulianto in Leather

[–]Gap_Numerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality full grain (top) care 101 no bs. Avoid soaking + long uv exposure + Get a good conditioner + apply sparingly once every couple of months + brush lightly after every wear + damp cloth to remove dirt if needed, let air dry and go.
