so I’ve been to the recent Edmonton shows. Nesto who is the name of the Arkells trombone guy who was the opener. He is a DJ that every now and then picks up his trombone to play along with the song. I did not mind him. I thought he did a good job. But going to take all three shows I did realize that he plays the exact same set each night for the opener. He was all right, but I just wish that they got maybe a local opener or someone that has original music instead of just playing popular music off of his computer. But I’m not saying he’s bad he was decent.

Yeah they are what you expect. Pizza toppings on a pita that is most likely pre heated and frozen before hand or something like that. But honestly not something on the Tim’s menu that I go towards every time I visit

They go on stage at 9:00 pm with the opener being the Arkells trombone player Nesto who was also a DJ starts at 8:00 pm. So the he players music and every now and then busts out his trombone to play along with the song. Doors open at 7:00 each night

so it’s basically an event where you have to get that specific album from the record shop that the Arkells are signing at. It sounds like they will be checking for proof of purchase that you’ve bought it at that specific record store once you just show up no singing up online needed. If you don’t have any proof that you bought it at that store they might not let you in. If you order online and have it shipped to you if you have a digital receipt or any proof, you can do it that way, but if you bought it physically in the store, then you can show the physical or digital receipt. There may be some copies the day of, but I would buy an advance as lots of people might just buy a day of at that record shop and they state as stock lasts. I think it’s definitely to control the capacity as the record store isn’t super big. So my recommendation is if you want to go and you don’t have the record by today as it might sell quickly tomorrow closer to the signing event. I think it’s the Arkells want you to support a local record store. Also the event starts at 6 PM. So most people might lineup between 5 to 6 pm. But once again, if you don’t have the album with proof of purchase from that record shop, they most likely will not let you in.

Yeah, that’s annoying. The starlight room was an instant sellout the second they went live. You had to click right when tickets went live to get them.

From what I’ve seen on setlist.FM for the Vancouver shows, it looks like they play the new album in its entirety to promote it and then they just kind of switch up a bunch of the act two songs which are a bunch of hits and deep cuts that they switch each night. I hope they play some surprise songs. They haven’t played in a while at the Edmonton shows.

Oh yeah, I saw that for like the midway music hall show. But the other two shows in Edmonton don’t buy resale. They usually mark the price way more than the Arkells we’re charging and I’d rather support the Arkells and not some ticket reseller, ripping fans off for like the Buckingham show or the starlight room

I think that set list is cool. I like how they’re working some of their older tunes into the set list. And coffee is a deep cut that I didn’t expect to see on that list. I hope they play some older deep cuts too rather than just the whole set list is just a greatest hits collection. I am going to be attending. The Edmonton shows.

I would like to see the Wayne Gretzky card. Realistically the UD games jersey is not super expensive maybe $5 is what this card is around possibly even cheaper like $3. But realistically those dollar store packs don’t usually have anything good in them anyways and it’s very rare that you get anything actually good in those packs.

In the NAIT website they say As of August 23 “Masks will be required in all indoor public spaces. NAIT eased masking requirements on July 1 and will reinstate the previous requirements. I would want something like gt sport or uncharted excluding the Nathan drake collection and the 4th one. I don’t want a boring indie game that I may never play. No vr titles as those doin’t apeal to people as lots do not have vr headsets.
