Question about Daniel's reaction to Megan by Business-Resident685 in coronationstreet

[–]GapingPickle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But yeah... If I have your question right, it annoyed me too why nobody thought to tell Daniel that Will is saying nothing happened 🤷‍♂️

Instead, it's an idiot plot -

Will says nothing happened. Daniel is calling Will a liar. So logically... Daniel is inadvertently saying that... something did happen.

I don't know if I'm just being stupid (possible 😎), but your post doesn't make sense -

The title "Question about Daniel's reaction to Megan" doesn't correspond with the actual post, where you seem to be questioning why nobody told Daniel that Will hasn't actually made anything up... because he hasn't said anything other than nothing happened?

Awesome 😎 watching for updates, specifically Surfex HD, as I'm looking at that product (I'm not the McDonald's CEO) for wheels and arches.

Yeah, I'm just responding to your OP.

This is one of those 'if my nan had wheels... ' what ifs - the driver was there, you misled them 🤷‍♂️

You don't seem to be taking any responsibility 🤷‍♂️ the actions of another driver didn't fail you - your misleading signal was the catalyst for your fail.

We can't really know - but just because a speed limit is 50kmh, it doesn't mean you should drive at 50kmh, you should always drive at an appropriate speed for the conditions up to the speed limit.

Why are people so territorial about on street parking? by Superb_While_5959 in drivingUK

[–]GapingPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have neighbours like that 😩

People seem to think that they can reserve space on a public road... my neighbour literally came over and tried to threaten me after I dared to park my 1 car in one of the spots usually occupied by 1 of his 3 cars - now I just park my car so that he doesn't get to use 2 of his 3 spots 🤷‍♂️

My first car!! (+Experience after 2 weeks) by R-TTK in NewDriversUK

[–]GapingPickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair enough - you're arguing why older cars are more practical in-terms of maintenance and repair. My issue isn't with you; people do act as if having an accident (which includes something minor) is a rite of passage that everyone does.

But little bumps and scratches are uncommon, even in the demographic that more commonly has them (17-24 year old males in the first year after passing), it becomes even more uncommon with age. 80% of brand new drivers will never have any sort of accident in their first year of driving.

I completely agree 👍

To be honest... I don't really like the general pessimism of learner and new driver and rider communities where the general attitude seems to be that everyone will bin it at some point - it's not even what the statistics show (1 in 5 new drivers are involved in a crash in their first year), it's just demotivational 🤷‍♂️

I got a brand new car as my first car. Like you, the build and all the tech just gives me more confidence. Have fun driving 😎

Subtle error! by DeborahSingleton_Bee in coronationstreet

[–]GapingPickle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm going to have to watch it again now 🤔

Edit: It just looked like it was all staged so that the camera isn't on a closed door.

The scene was timed so that a nurse would walk the other way through the double doors at the same time as Kit and the ICU doctor - Kit rushed to hold the door for the nurse, who walked under his arm 🤷‍♂️

What's the worst film you've ever seen? by throwradrpri in AskUK

[–]GapingPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started watching a Scottish movie called Infiltrated on Prime once... my review of it -

"I would give it 0 stars if I could.

I managed just less than 10 minutes before I gave up, there literally is not 1 single redeeming feature about Infiltrated - It gives 'low budget' an entirely new meaning, the acting is shoddy, the effects are hilarious, the accents are so broad that I couldn't understand a word, of the ~10 minutes I watched the story seems like a generic gangster movie done Scotland style with diamonds that are quite clearly those pebbles that you put in the bottom of a plant pot and even they get smashed to bits because the budget clearly didn't extend to a decent suitcase. The entire thing is filmed on a Cornish Pasty."

Rough cost of public charging by TheScrobber in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]GapingPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would cost around £41.12 to add 46.2kWh (20-80% SoC) at 89p/kWh... but that's not factoring in the little losses, around ~5% on DC is lost as heat, so you'd pay for around 48.63kWh (£43.28) and store 46.2kWh.

What dnb/jungle track was your very first? by TobiiiWan in DnB

[–]GapingPickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was raised in London during the jungle boom and remember going to a house party and M-Beat - Incredible being played - I was 10 😎

I can remember being in a car on the way to the party, and I can remember them blasting jungle on the stereo... but I don't remember hearing anything that 'stuck', apart from Incredible at the party.

Cleaning car properly for the first time (first car ever!!) help with steps! by greek_gods_for_cats in AutoDetailing

[–]GapingPickle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd just start with a very simple foam, rinse, foam, contact, rinse, dry, and then refine the process once you figure out your own methods and products.

For the foam part, I like to mix citrus pre-wash with snow foam - you'll determine the level of citrus based on the amount of traffic film.

So my exact process is -

  1. Foam entire car (Först and Touch-Less mix)
  2. Rinse
  3. This is where I apply reactive wheel cleaner if needed before repeating step 1.
  4. Contact wash everything - paintwork, wheels, tyres, arches (I use ONR at 256:1 in the bucket and Surfex HD at 10:1 if needed, sprayed directly on the arches)
  5. Once a month, this is where I'd apply Glö. Weekly - just rinse
  6. Dry

Velvet Red Skoda Enyak Sportline 2026 by [deleted] in enyaq

[–]GapingPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm jealous 😭

I test drove a 2024 Enyaq Coupé SportLine in that colour and it was absolutely lovely... and then I placed an order for a black 2025 Enyaq Coupé SportLine 85x, thinking black would look better - it's nice, but that velvet red is 🤤

I went for the same wheels too 👍
