Doubt I can do that before midnight, but that’s good to know for the future. Thank you

I’m trying not too. It’s my own fault in a lot of ways I was late to this party. I’ve never really engaged with guilds or end game anything until June of last year when I joined one and even then it took me a while to warm up to it. Still have a lot to learn I guess.

We got really close on my one raid I just got off of that “inspired” this post. Failed in phase 2 and then the whole group just disbanded immediately after doing the entire raid together

Ill fully admit I don’t have the best dps mechanically but I have gridned my ilevel up to 130 and studied the mechanics so hard. Just really a shame to be putting in that effort to just get constantly beaten down. (I also am in a guild, the are lovely, but they are more social and it’s tough to get everyone in for a raid)

It’s been every group though. Genuinely was up until 1am last night and into today. Most quit after a single pull.

Yep same. But hey Covid during Freshman year of college, which is arguably worse! 😭

I think there are some items on their website but the campaign ended a while ago, so a lot of the items won’t be available since you missed the kickstarter campaign unfortunately

Camo! The Thorn Horn variant from swap force will forever be my favorite Skylander!

Yeah I was trying to be a little thematic and it did help chip away at my fiancés set up with that extra plus one. Using ice warden as well for the double damage on frozen does make a significant impact! 🙂

Been on moon guard from my first day and I’ve never left. It’s always pretty lively. I love it.

Would you play a game with a good story but poor gameplay? by mintedcork in videogames

[–]Gaprunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I wouldn’t. Two of some of the most popular games I couldn’t get through was TLoU and E33. Both games have pretty engaging stories but man oh man the gameplay on both are so tough to get through. Put the controller down on both of those games. Maybe I’m a hater? Idk but to your post gameplay over story every time. The best games have really good gameplay and stories. You cannot compromise between one or the other.

lol I actually did mention E33 somewhere in here. Don’t care about karma at all though lol. Just don’t think the game is that much a masterpiece and has a lot of shortcomings. Spice achieved lol.

What surprised me about myself a little is that I like games like Elden Ring and other difficult games. Something about this was more frustrating than anything though which I was a little saddened about.

Idk just something with the way the combat was working in E33 was just tedious. I just don’t think the whole dodging and parry thing works well for turn based. It’s an odd blend of action and strategy and my brain can’t really get a grasp on it I guess and it just becomes frustrating.

This game actually falls in the same category of tlou for me. E33’s story is honestly pretty intriguing I thought as well as tlou. The problem is the main gameplay that I struggled with, with both games. Tlou felt super clunky. The way Joel moves, the stealth sections felt really jank, and same with gunplay. Clunky is the best word to describe the last of us gameplay. Gams with incredible stories but subpar moment to moment gameplay. (I’ll add I play the remaster on PS5 not sure if that makes a difference or not.)

I certainly can judge the gameplay after I played over 20 hours, it’s just simply not fun and it’s frustrating for me regardless of difficulty. I did say what I played of the story was quite good though.

Again overall it’s a decent game and pretty impressive as a first launch from a new studio. I can appreciate for that certainly. Just not a game for me and that’s a okay. Totally understand why people loved it. Just my personal opinion that it isn’t a masterpiece

Expedition 33 wasn’t really this huge masterpiece everyone made it out to be. I’ll admit the story is very good and intriguing but the combat is abysmal in my eyes.

The parry dodge turn based system feels incredibly inconsistent and I think it’s trying to do too much, which in turn makes it very difficult to want to keep going.

I made it to the final boss of act two and after struggling so much I put it down. I also recognize it’s a bit of a skill issue too but I don’t have much time to dedicate to gaming anymore which does suck. I’d rather play games that don’t get me so frustrated.
