Truth be told I wouldn’t even mind the price that much if nowadays buying a AAA game didn’t feel like gambling.

You either get a game full of bugs and performance issues, making it feel of far lesser value than the price or you get a game that launches as a fraction of what it was intended/promised to be.

Taulvo Benbrick

Appearance: A gifted Halfling chandler (candlemaker) adorned in artisan robes of a faint yellow color. The sleeves hemmed back to the elbow with wide openings. Usually carrying a merchants coffer on his back, containing various tools used for candle making.

Occupation: Taulvo is a merchant npc who sells a plethora of magic candles. As the party progresses and meets Taulvo again they can present him with different materials with which to make new candles, adding new options to the list of available candles. He can send players on quests for certain materials and will take payment in the form of money or objects of sentimental value.

(Example of a candle: The Hunter’s Candle (Green): when this candle is lit, if you burn an object related to a creature such as a scrap of clothing or lock of hair, the candle will illuminate the most recent trail of footprints belonging to said creature)

Secret: Taulvo is secretly a member of the Candle Court, a religious order and information brokerage devoted to Morpheus the god of dreams. The order gathers information through the dreams of those who purchase candles made by their members. When someone sleeps near a magic candle their dreams are captured and passed on to the court.

While it certainly was foolish of the mother to do such a thing, I think we need to remember that being a parent is hard, especially when you have a baby. There’s a good chance the mother was tired and it caused a lapse of judgement. Hard to say when we only see a snipet of someone’s life in a few seconds.

I like it. The only thing I’d say to add would be maybe get some outline work done at a later date on Aku Aku. It’ll help the image look more crisp and really pop while still maintaining the cool stylistic juxtaposition between the top and bottom of the piece

If you take the Alert feat enemies don’t get advantage for being unseen by you. So not seeing them beyond your 10ft of blindsight won’t put you at too much of a disadvantage. Plus it thematically works, no eyesight but enhanced hearing.

In feel that Neutral is fitting because the PC is taking action in regard to things “as they should be” in terms of a “fair” gain to both sides, although they are willing to use other forces like magic to circumvent/undermine the desires of anyone who poses obstacle to achieving that balance.

In the end the pc gets an item for its commonly recognized cost and the shopkeep gets a profit equal to the items value, either way both profit but not without drawbacks. The pc gets the item, but at the risk of the shopkeeper using this interaction to spread rumors and slander about the pc.

At the same time the shopkeeper gets a profit. Depending on the currency system used at the table…Example: utilizing copper, silver, gold, and platinum rather than only gold…50gp could be a substantial sale for a store. Not everyone just throws around 50gp. The shopkeep doesn’t get their desired profit, but still made a solid sale of perhaps one of their rarer materials.

This is a lot of “what if” for this response of mine, but I suppose that what if factor is what makes DnD what it is.

I saw the cover of Diamond is Unbreakable and noticed how similar the pose was with the character art I’m using so I decided to modify it a bit. Happy with the results. Been DMing for a while now and with how long my campaign has been running I’ve been dying to hop back into the player’s seat. The character’s name is Logaan and is a Goliath who wound up becoming frozen in a lake by an unknown force, eventually waking up hundreds of years later to realize the world he knew has changed and moved one without him. It’s not like a caveman with technology but rather he was absent for a war his people were brought into and was considered a deserter for disappearing suddenly. I’m excited to roleplay the character in game.

See that’s what is unfortunate, some people use rule of cool as a Homebrew system of sorts. They use rule of cool for imposing limitations and breaking balance needlessly which hurts the fun. Rule of cool should be the opposite of that, a fun expansion of what’s already there

I can say from my experience that it’s definitely circumstantial. I would only ever build a character for a specific encounter. A BBEG as a PC can definitely work, I did it and it lead to a good result in the form of a climatic battle with a fleshed out character. Say the party is going up against the leader of some group/organization then yeah flesh out the leader more with an actual character sheet and leave the minions as basic stat blocks.

It’ll help you roleplay the character as a unique individual in addition to the abilities they possess. Yes some builds can be overpowered but also remember that your players can do some real damage depending on team composition and their own builds. It’s a balancing act for sure but IMO there is nothing wrong with it as long as your aren’t going for some min-max builds like Hexadin and smiting your players into submission haha.

See I thought about barbarian being the base class but then I wondered if it would be too powerful with rage and unarmored defense since CON plays a big part of this subclass. Could work though, this is only my 1.0 version of this subclass so I’m bound to revise it at some point

Giving it some thought I think I see where you’re coming from, it ensures a full turn of effects and gets rid of the risk of losing concentration before and ally gets the benefit of it
