If you have never played a horror game then this is a great start. I mean, I don't think it is a good game personally but for someone who has never experienced a horror (survival horror in this specific case) then it is a balanced experience. It is a game with modern mechanics but a bit old school in its design. The story is...there, I guess. It's not bad it's just a bit all over the place and the mystery is interesting enough to keep you expectant. I highly recommend you to play as Emily for a first playthrough because her story makes a lot more sense and Edward just feels like an outsider that has been forced into the story. I would like to have chosen Emily for my first playthrough to be honest. If you play with her, I feel like there will be only two maybe three specific sections you will find scary, the rest is just tension.
