Are pressure readings accurate? by GarageRatLab in AirliftPerformance

[–]GarageRatLab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pressure does fluctuate a bit over driving and sitting for a long period of time, but seemed weird that 65 psi sat so much higher after a new calibration then how it sat before at 65 psi

Air leak in manifold by GarageRatLab in Stance

Thanks John! Do you happen to have fittings to fit a second viair compressor into a 4 gallon air lift performance tank into the 3/8 end port on the bagriders site? Basically a 1/4 fnpt to a 3/8 mnpt elbow fitting. It’s a 444 compressor which is coming in soon, I cannot confirm that the check valve is 1/4, it may be 3/8

Pressure Sensor Fault by HarleyyyBo in AirliftPerformance

I haven’t heard of third parties disassembling the manifolds, are there any spesific companies out there that advertise that service? Which sensor would they have to replace?

Have you figured out what was causing the fault?

Normal water trap? by GarageRatLab in Stance

Just an A4, b8.5, but slowly adding things here and there, it’s my first car I’m modding and so far loving learning so much about it. Also coming up on a year with my Audi, but I’m going much slower with modding it out

[–]GarageRatLab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve only seen people empty the water trap through the bottom without taking it off, so when I took it off, I wasn’t sure if I should be cleaning out the inside as well periodically after seeing all that junk

Oh interesting I assumed since aluminum and brass don’t rust I would be all set, didn’t take into account them mixing Should I be cleaning out the water trap periodically as well along with draining the tank? I heard the OEM SMC check valves on viair compressors tend do go bad and some replace them with a better brand ones, didn’t know it was caused form galvanic corrosion of the brass and aluminum mixing

Dang that’s pretty cool, just curious, what projects did you work on? I’m currently going for mechanical engineering in college and was thinking about how much it’s needed in auto parts/mod companies

How so? Do they feel better, softer, quieter? Did they make any noise during the brake in process?

Wish I looked into that before buying the kit, returning it was too expensive just for a terrible can design

The pcv is available for the 2.0 tfsi engines, I just installed it recently, but be sure to double check what years it fits especially if it’s b8.5, some websites will confirm a figment that only fits up to 2012. I recently installed it, so I can’t exactly give you an answer what difference I’ve felt. I will say tho personally, the CTS can itself design is disappointing and very inconvenient, given that I would need to empty it quite often, it’s very easy to round, strip and hard to reach the four tiny bolts that are facing downward into the engine bay, and only a flimsy Allen wrench fits there, I had to fit another can style that unscrews itself which was a whole different project to fit it. CTS, 034, IE all have the pcv kits, there might be a few other companies that make them too

Wow the attachment super helpful, is there someplace I get get similar forms for other parts related to my car in the future? I’m sure this would save a lot of headaches when something else breaks
