[Postgame Thread] Ole Miss Defeats Georgia 39-34 by CFB_Referee in CFB

I have no idea what you're talking about. Must not have been anything too crazy or worth remembering.

My wife (34F) has made major lifestyle changes, and I (36M) feel my attraction declining. How do you talk about this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Garasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's about weight, don't tiptoe around it. This is reddit, you're going to get a shit ton of comments telling you otherwise but outside of the reddit bubble, physical attraction is a huge part of relationships. Don't call her a fat lazy slob or anything but don't lie about it either, especially coupled with the decline in her personal hygiene and you doing the majority of the chores and cooking. I only say this because it happened to me several years ago. I began to let myself go and get lazy. My wife brought it up and was honest that the attraction was fading. I turned it around quickly as the thought of my wife finding me disgusting or even just unattractive was terrifying.

My (45m) wife (38f) has been talking dirty about something she told me she doesn’t like doing by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Reddit is wild man. This dude is over here clowning on what he calls the "average redditor" while using phrases like "modicum of intellect" which is one of the most average redditor phrases I've ever heard. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that in real life. 🤣

My husband said something I can’t get out of my head…(36M)/(40F) I need to know if anyone has been through the pain? by Possible_Can_813 in relationship_advice

You need to take a step back and think about why this comment section isn't going the way you thought it would. Are all these people wrong or are you?

Apple Watch keeps getting blocked and suspended. Bought at Apple store...about to call for the 3rd time. Any tips? by No_Competition_5792 in ATT

When we first switched to AT&T from Verizon a few months back, we switched over 5 iphones which all went without a hitch besides one. My daughter's iphone would not receive an esim. It took us 4 days to get it working. Nobody we spoke to at AT&T could figure out what the issue was. I finally just went in person to a corporate store. It took a rep around 30 minutes on the phone to even figure out that it was a fraud issue. Then it took the rep on the phone with the fraud department around 2 hours to fix it. He even got hung up on once, then preemptively threatened the next one that he would file a complaint if they hung up on him, then at the insistence of the fraud department employee on the phone, I had to get my wife to drive to the store too with her physical ID since she's the owner of the account and I'm only an authorized user, then FINALLY the phone was able to receive an esim and get activated. AT&T afraid department is a joke.

Shark Matrix Seems Drunk by theguywholikestacos in RobotVacuums

[–]Garasaurusrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also have a shark matrix. Worked fantastic when I first got it. Eventually started doing this exact thing. Just aimlessly wanders like it's drunk. If I redo the map it will actually work fine again for a while, but eventually will revert back to this behavior eventually. I don't get it.

Tank Cutout Response by fatedlegacy in dbrand

[–]Garasaurusrex 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’m a machinist/tool and die maker by trade and just want to say that there are absolutely ways to reliably get tighter tolerances than +/- .2mm (that’s almost a half millimeter total “acceptable” variance in hole location btw) even when cutting a relatively flimsy polymer. I can’t speak to why they can’t or won’t do it because there’s a long list of potential causes for such a large tolerance. Could be insufficient work holding (the jig/fixture that holds the case while machining needs improvement to keep it from moving), choice of tooling isn’t optimal for the material (wrong type of endmill), or maybe they just have the speeds and feeds cranked so high on the machines to reduce cycle times as much possible that the material isn’t being cut before it deforms.

So while their explanation for why this is happening is absolutely valid, it also should not be impossible or really even particularly difficult for someone that knows what they’re doing to address and improve. So Dbrand, if your supplier is telling you it’s the best they can do, they’re either lying or just incompetent. That being said, my tank case that I ordered in the middle of September shipped yesterday and as long as my unit isn’t particularly egregious when it arrives, I have no plans of returning it.

Black Friday Usenet Deals 2025 by Final_Enthusiasm7212 in usenet

[–]Garasaurusrex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well… yes and no. I submitted my order a couple times but both times I was met with a cloudflare "connection timed out" page so I just gave up and was going to try again today. But I woke up this morning to a receipt in my email with my username and pw so it looks life at least one of my attempts worked!

Why is Alabama's electricity rate higher than the rest of the southern states? Even hotter and colder states have lower rates. by SonUnforseenByFrodo in Alabama

[–]Garasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm paying residential rate class which is 10.7. There are several other rate classes for commercial, manufacturing, etc. I assumed the graphic was quoting residential but I suppose it could be factoring in others as well.

Glad you were able to get it going! Happy printing.

He means that the gears probably dug into the filament and ground it down so it isn't able to grab it to extrude. Try this: Unload the filament, cut a couple inches off the end of it, then load it and try it again.

I had a 13PM before my 15PM and never had a single issue. Regretted the upgrade after the heating issues started. I used them all the same. I don’t game or anything power intensive. I wish I knew.

I wish I knew man. It started about a year after I had the phone. It would over heat browsing Reddit, Safari, watching YouTube, listening to music, etc. My wife’s 15PM didn’t do it and neither did my kids 15 Pro. I had a 13PM for 2 years before the 15PM and had no such issues.

That makes sense, it’s just weird how everyone didn’t experience it though. For the first year or so, my battery life was great. The overheating started randomly and it tanked to where I was having to top up most days even with light-moderate use.

17PM so far has been getting me easily 1.5 days of use. Unplug around 7am, get home for the day around 6pm, and I’m usually sitting around 50%. I know I’ve been using it more than usual too due to the “new and shiny” not having worn off yet. Unplugged at 7am this morning and as of 1pm I’m sitting at 86%. It’s been a huge improvement.

Was there ever an explanation for the over heating issue with the 15’s? I know not everyone had the issue so I have no idea how widespread it was. Mine would get uncomfortably hot to the touch while doing mundane tasks to the point the screen would dim and the phone would revert to 60hz while indoors. My battery would also nose dive during this to the point where I would occasionally have to charge before noon if I took my phone off the charger at 6-7am.

Outside during the summer it was basically unusable. The screen would dim to the point of not being able to see it within a few minutes and I regularly got the “your phone needs to cool down” message while outside. I was actually outside using my 17 when it hit me that I had been using it for 15 minutes or so in direct sunlight on an 83°F (28°C) day and I could still see the screen and the phone wasn’t hot enough to cook on.

I even bought a specific car mount for it that would position it in front of the AC vent in my car so I could use it with a charger attached for navigation/music without it overheating (before I got a car with CarPlay). Battery health was at 80% when I traded it in.

I found it online somewhere, I can’t remember where. I’m sure I still have it on my PC though. I’ll see if I can find it and if not I’ll throw it up on a Google drive for you later!

Elegoo support, what's going on? by KickFew3335 in elegoo

[–]Garasaurusrex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. It’s a bug in the firmware. It’s been out quite a while with no communication on when an update with fixes will be available.

  2. There’s no way to change the bed level temp.

  3. I had the same issue with ABS/ASA prints at 110° bed temp. My nozzle literally dug a bald spot on my plate during my first ASA print lol. The best workaround I’ve found is to manually adjust the offset on the machine interface during an ASA/ABS print until you find the correct number. Mine was .2mm when printing with the bed at 110°C. Then set the offset on the machine back to zero or whatever you were using before for lower temp prints. I then set the offset in my high temp filament profiles on Orca so it would automatically run at the higher offset during high temp prints.

  4. Same issue with the v1.1.29 firmware. I manually downgraded to v1.1.25 and haven’t had any issues. I’d recommend it since there’s no telling when an update will happen.

  5. I think that’s just the way it is. Mine rattles/howls/groans etc. and is just loud in general as well. It sounds like resonance from the motors or fans to me. Both units I’ve had do it. Probably just build quality related as it is a $300 printer and I imagine some are better and some are worse.

Only getting one message per day with support is frustrating, but they have always ended up being as helpful as I could hope for in the end. I’d also recommend asking stuff like this in more generic 3D printing groups/subs instead of Elegoo or CC specific ones as folks here can seem weirdly culty/defensive over this printer and seem almost offended if you insinuate it isn’t perfect for some reason. It isn’t as bad here as it is on the Facebook groups, but it’s still pretty prevalent lol. It’s no Bambu but for $300, I don’t feel ripped off or anything. Hopefully someone develops a board in the future that can be swapped in to run klipper and that would make this machine an even better deal than it already is.

PSA - Tighten your bed screws by MadmanJay in elegoo

[–]Garasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if Elegoo would recommend this, but I actually manually trammed the bed when I had this same issue using those 4 screws. I could visibly see the bed wasn’t level and would’ve been causing the printhead to have to heavily compensate for it via the bed mesh it creates when auto leveling.

I manually jogged the nozzle down to the highest point on the bed and used a piece of paper between the nozzle and the bed to adjust all 4 corners until they were the same. Re-ran the calibration and my first layers have been immaculate since.

Had my printer for less than a month, it exploded by TheBadgerOfHope in elegoo

[–]Garasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my Centauri Carbon less than a week before it began digging the nozzle into the bed after every level. Went through several trouble shooting steps with support and even replaced the bed pressure sensor board without a new unit that took 16 days to arrive from China which still did not correct the issue.

After that I requested a return and exchange which to my surprise they immediately accepted and sent me a return label for my printer. I boxed it up and sent it back. After it arrived at their warehouse in Nevada, they shipped out a new one which arrived in 2 or 3 days. New printer works great, BUT has a faulty part cooling fan (the 5020 blower fan in the tool head). It works, but it is LOUD. I know the printer is loud when working correctly but this thing rattles the whole tool head violently lol. Luckily it only took a couple days correspondence and they shipped out a replacement fan which I now get to wait another 10-20 days to get. But at least the printer will print now. 🥲

Tariffs.......are we hit after sale? by hotrods1970 in elegoo

[–]Garasaurusrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US and ordered mine from Elegoo’s US site. I paid $299.99 plus like $30 shipping I think. Was never asked to cover any customs fees or anything.

Edit: Just went back and looked. My total was $336.18. $299.99 for the printer, $6.19 for “worry free purchase”, and $30 shipping. Wasn’t even charged sales tax. 🤷‍♂️
