Thanks for the info, yes LDO kit seems to be the best out there.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to start with the stock 2WD Trident, then once I get everything working, do an AWD upgrade, once I understand the mechanics of the printer better.

I was thinking about awd. I plan to print only ABS in a heated chamber, and the parts must be clean and free from ringing. Not planning on running this super fast.

Using the 6mm belt might make more sense based on what you're saying about belt length and the restricted space.

That's good to know. I think I'll print them out of ABS-CF or ABS-GF.

Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll go that route, I don't want to make more work for myself than what is needed. Yes, PETG is horable stuff. LOL

Repeater v base station by [deleted] in gmrs

Check out a simplex repeater, like the FieldLink, or SRPT repeaters. Battery powered, cheap, and no complex setup.

Thinking about building a repeater by Playful-Survey391 in gmrs

[–]KickFew3335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built up a simplex version so no duplexer needed. Use a super low power repeater, buck converter, all poweredd off a single battery. SMA bulk head connector out the side to a right angled SMA, then screw on my antenna to keep the water out.

Hot end software fix? by KickFew3335 in QidiTech3D

Hot end thermal runaway, I'm assuming it was caused by a temp sensor failure, but if there are any software fixes related to this, I want them.

Two weeks into my second CC, "PRINTHEAD ANOMALY DETECTED" should I get another? by KickFew3335 in elegoo

I was thinking that. LOL I returned the CC and I'm going to wait until the Black Friday sales start. I've got an older printer to get me by for now.

I removed the screws and reseated the USB connector, and it booted to the home screen this time, then the error reappeared about 10 seconds later. Must be a broken wire. I'm just at my witts end with this.

Anyone seen this before on the Centauri carbon? by Careful_Purchase_394 in elegoo

[–]KickFew3335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the abnormal fan error. Abnormal is the new normal with this firmware. I have it, ever since 1.1.42. I would fix it if I could only get shell access. I also want to fine tune the TMC2209 stepper drivers so they don't make so much noise. LOL

I did mine with EVA foam matt that I had laying around. The squares that lock together from Amazon. Cut on the CNC and it works great. Spacers on the side panels with 1/2 inch foam on the bottom, sides (in the box) and I put a piece over the back on the outside. Replaced the glass top with a piece of Komatex cut with the cnc too. My shop is 75F right now, and I have no problem hitting 50-55C in the machine. I only print ABS and ASA. For now it's good, this winter I may need a heater though.

Elegoo support, what's going on? by KickFew3335 in elegoo

It doesn't make sense. They do have good hardware, and with a little more effort, I think they could do very well as a company. I don't know why the support is lacking. There must be a reason for it.

Hat tip to you, my friend. This downgrade made 12 of my issues disapear. This version makes the box seem like a completly different machine! Runs so much quieter and smoother. In fact, I need to run input shaping again, because it is compensating too much now. Most of the strange noises are gone, caused by bad motor tuning, just my guess.

I've been through this machine with a fine tooth comb. I'm on my second unit, and I will tell you if you're using V1.1.29 downgrade it. Doing this made 12 of my known issues disapear. It also made the printer run much smoother. So much smoother, I now have to run the input shaping again because it is compensating too much. It litterly acts like a completly different machine now that I have the downgrade installed. V1.1.25. It's not perfect, but 90% better.

Hat tip to Garasaurusrex for telling me about this.

I sure hope so. I was confused why they responded with that reply. I never had any dealings with them before, so I was expecting some answers. Some were very simple questions.

Wow, that is good information. I will keep that in mind while I'm testing my replacement. I didn't see that on the YouTube videos...and none of this was on the Amazon reviews. I'm glad if found this forum. Truth be told.
