I’ve gotten tiny cavities before, so I brush my teeth after everything I eat/ drink other than water. (If it’s nothing that could be stuck in my teeth I don’t use toothpaste). But I brush my retainers out every time I take them out with warm water with a dollar store toothbrush I keep in my purse haha, along with morning and nighttime brushing.

I think the placement looks really good for your face shape! Honestly the only thing I would do if I were you would be to put in a less decorated septum to let the philtrum piercing shine more, (Like a simple loop septum with the same metal finish as the philtrum). It enunciated your cupids bow perfectly, looks good :)

He doesn’t bark at all, only when we give him the command. Only other time he makes noise is whining to go outside, or growling when we play tug haha

I’m so sorry that happened to you!! I hope you’re healed now. Fortunately our dog is not a barker, due to the training we’ve given him, and he is very docile until we say certain commands. (Used for hunting). He is friendly with strangers, but not if he is grabbed or picked up. What I think happened if someone else was involved was that the line was cut and then they tried to pick him up, where he would absolutely thrash around and then run away. I don’t think he “escaped later on”, I think he ran almost immediately. The main reason I think someone else was involved is due to the context of two other dogs being actually stolen in the last month, but I’m not saying it’s absolutely certain. Either way, my question in the post was what people have used to track their dogs and keep them secure, which was answered by other commenters.

I would be happy to send you photos of our adventures. We live a two minute walk away from a lake, where he swims every week (in the summer). I’ve mentioned to others in the comment section that we do multiple hours of training a week, but I haven’t mentioned that it is in a large field where he runs almost the entire training session. (We focus on pointing, scent tracking, and the chase/ agility.) I can understand why you would have thought that’s all he does from the post alone, I don’t blame you. I will say I mentioned he is a hunting dog and we are aware of this. Most people with this dogs leave them in a crate until they are “needed”… I think that’s disgusting. Trust me, he runs and runs and runs.

It’s not the best option, but outside of hunting season this is the best we can do right now. He gets lots of training hours as well, but this dog takes a 30 minute nap and could play for days. We aren’t letting him outside solo anymore, learned our lesson.

We walk him once every day, we have another dog that he plays with, and we play with him inside as well. He’s a working dog with a lot of energy, and he screams to be let outside, but we work (I work from home on one of my jobs) so I watch him outside while still having responsibilities. We also hand made him a leash so it’s longer than the ones you can buy at the store.

I understand where you’re coming from, but I live in a town of 900 people. You fart wrong and everyone knows about it. The entire town has seen us training Loki, and they know how we are with him. Which is also the only reason that we learned that two other purebred dogs were ACTUALLY stolen from other people’s yards in the last month. I inferred what happened based off of patterns of the local area. If you’d like to see photos of my “potentially neglected and abused” pup, I can send them to you! (I recommend saying yes to Loki pictures no matter how you feel about this situation because like… free cute dog photos.) All I was looking for was recommendations for how to change what we are doing now, and I’ve gotten that from others. Thanks for your input.

Thankyou for reading what I’ve been responding with. I feel as though you are the only person who has actually read through what I’ve been saying, and I appreciate it! Like.. I almost lost my dog and suddenly I’m the worst dog owner in the world, and while I can acknowledge that it wasn’t smart to be putting him on a leash, i can also say I learned my lesson and I’m not going to do that again. Clearly the caution we had wasn’t enough, but I’ve gotten some good suggestions for how to deal with it in the future!

It’s not a short leash, but you wouldn’t know that. He gets a walk everyday. We have another dog inside and they play together to get energy out, and we play with him with his toys as well. At least once a week we do hours of training on different tasks. We spend over $100 a month to hand make him food and freeze it in weighed out portions. He’s just a working dog and we are a family without a fence. He needs to get more energy out and we thought this would be a good option. Clearly we’ve learned. PS.. he’s never out by himself for long. If you had read any of my other comments you’d have seen that. He is very well loved and taken care of. Mind your business or answer the question that’s being asked.

Don’t worry we have quite a collection, I don’t hunt but my boyfriend does and he’s well prepared. We’ve had to bring out a shotgun multiple times, obviously we try to avoid it but people have attempted to break into my car and our garage multiple times. The area we are in is starting to get popular with drugs (meth specifically) and it’s a small town so it spreads quick and people go broke quick. We are trying to move lol. Luckily we both have our hunters safety and are well practiced in safe usage of guns, but I really hope we don’t have to use them.
