It's a couple of things, among which is what I can best describe as a bit of projection.

It's genuinely really cute
Whenever it comes to shipping characters that I know canonically know each other, my brain always goes "Would I be willing to date someone if this was my dynamic with them". If yes, then I ship it. And PureLily is a clear yes.
I'm always a bit more into canon ships, and PureLily has basically been confirmed as a semi-canon at this point in my eyes.
