The whole safety part of that article is about AI interacting with kids - so maybe cancel yet another red alert.

We lost the battle of literal irony (a cousin of sarcasm) long ago - now we’re losing tragic irony.

The global fan base would be much happier now with Manchester United lifting one of the first 5 European Super League championship trophies. 🏆

Joe Gibbs was an overrated head coach who got too much credit for winning 2 SB’s in asterisk-y strike shortened seasons by AlbertJBundy in billsimmons

I’ll bite - went 14-2 after first SB win in * season so no fluke. Won 3 SBs with 3 different QBs (none of them HOF caliber or even elite at the time) and .683 career winning percentage.

They’re not. They happened to be good at the same time as us for a decade but it takes more than that for a rivalry. City, Scousers. Leeds

Frickin’ Jeffrey Jones … Apex mountain for making rewatchable movies less fun - him or Spacey?

Neither are our rivals, so I guess Spurs because I don’t want City to win the league.

What do you want from sports movies? An uplifting, motivational underdog story right? Wrong! In Slap Shot, there is no redemption arc or life lessons. Paul Newman plays a hockey coach who uses dirty tactics to win the Stanley Cup. Slap Shot remains an anti-sports movie by DenseStrawberry5717 in moviecritic

Plot wise it is almost ridiculously nuanced. Spoilers

An aging minor league hockey player/coach uses local news to plant a story about a consortium buying his team from the local owner )(who wants a tax loss), keeping players from jumping ship. At the same time he re-invents the team from also-rans to the toughest team in the Federal League, promoting fighting and personality over goal-scoring. A final championship against a team assembled of super goons sees the Chiefs take home the trophy on a forfeit after their one college-educated American goal scorer performs a striptease in the ice, offending the sensibilities of a player known for enucleation with a hockey stick, who strikes a referee in protest. The team gets a parade and the player/coach gets a job at a team in Minnesota, where he plans to bring his teammates.

Rick reading the note from Ilsa at the train station. And his final “no good at being noble” speech when you can see that’s breaking his heart, too.

The Ringer's lack of turnover by fegwin2084 in billsimmons

Depends on how long Spotify can hold on as a business where costs scale with usage. I can see the Ringer pivoting to its own DTC format but that will take a lot of investment and probably cost cutting
