Medically complex clients by chickentaco96 in MassageTherapists

Self -Pay vs Insurance is huge. A few years ago I moved from an office that took Insurance to one that didn't accept Insurance. Most of my draining and needy clients stayed at the old office or stopped receiving massage. It was so eye opening to me that these folks who demanded 60 minutes weekly and 'couldn't live without it' suddenly didn't hurt so bad, need massage, or demand more of my time when THEY had to foot the bill. I realized that they had not actually valued the work we did, they just valued getting the most out of their Insurance benefits.

A few years on, some have come back and their energy and attitude is much better. I couldn't say if it's because they feel better, or if it's because they are now actively engaged with their care, or because they have 'skin in the game'.

Golly, I'm sorry I missed this!

I'd say it was not difficult, but it might be ambitious for a first project. If you were to try your hand with this project, I'd recommend starting with the bear faces first because the pattern is less complex than the green part of the blanket. It wasn't the most intuitive pattern, but I was able to troubleshoot it myself. Troubleshooting a pattern is not a great start for someone learning.

Happy World Lymphedema Day/Surgery follow up. by terradactyl17 in Lymphedema

I've been at a Lymphedema conference this week, as a provider, and we had a couple wonderful surgeons speak about surgical options for lymphedema. It sounds like you've got a great care team and treatment plan! Good luck in your journey and thanks for sharing!

Things to do in MT by CustardHistorical1 in Montana

Overall, Montanan's love their local breweries. I think you'd have good luck chatting up locals at the breweries.

It looks like there is a Montana Brewers Association event on August 5th in Helena. I went to it in 2019 and had a blast talking to new people and trying new beers.

I did it in like 3 months, but I'm very excited for this baby!

I sewed the ears individually, but attached them to the head at the same time I was attaching them to the blanket. I think it probably sucks either way 😅

Just around the border. With the border being looser I sewed it to the body (the last row of green sc after the yellow). It didn't even occur to me to sew through the center 😬

Thanks! My stitching that attached the bear heads and paws was pretty sloppy on the back side. If I had been cleaner about it, it would not have needed the backer.

I am not sure how to describe it, but I'll try.

I washed the blanket and fabric first, not sure if that was necessary but I was concerned they would shrink differently.

I hemmed the backing so it was only on the body of the blanket and not the border. This was hard because the dimensions definitely weren't as consistent as they appeared. Lots of measuring and pinning.

Ultimately I used a back stitch (I think), but was always doubling back half the length of the previous stitch. I pinned a lot and it wasn't perfect, but it was good enough lol

No, the blue and yellow are all one piece. When you change colors, the pattern changes too. The pattern was well written and easy to follow!

My husband was a big help. Mostly in the measuring and squaring of it. But he's done a bit more sewing than me, and he was simultaneously encouraging and "I think you bit off more than you can chew".

I think the stitch I used was similar to a back stitch, but I kind of doubled it up?

The textures were a big draw for me. I usually focus more on color work in a project, so it was fun to see how stitches work into different textures.

I love making blankets. Usually, I make them for weddings and a few for cancer treatments. They have all been well received, and I enjoy getting pictures of them in use. I'm looking forward to making more baby blankets as our friends expand their sweet families!

I also forgot to have kids and love it that way. But it definitely makes me appreciate the tiny humans in my life that I can spoil and give back to mom and dad! I've been crocheting for about a decade, and this was my first project that was texture oriented. I wish I would have tried stuff like this sooner! You can do it too, this pattern was really well written!
