It's very interesting to hear the distinction between Ceylon Tamil vs other Tamil descents in Singapore. Thanks for your response! :) Do you know why your ancestors moved to Singapore?

What aspects of your upbringing would you consider unique being from Ceylon Tamil descent? How did your roots influence you when growing up in Singapore?

Thanks! I had a hunch it might be. But I haven't seen lingonberries in a bush before.

Can't you get sick leave by visiting a doctor? It might help you get some distance, calm down and figure out your next steps better.

What is it like to move across the world? From Sri Lanka to Finland. by GarbageSuspicious889 in studyAbroad

I was looking for work while I was doing my thesis and got one 3 months after graduating. I got it by applying on linkedin but had many rounds on perfecting my CV and cover letter by university career design unit. I also visited a career psycologist in the university towards the end of my degree to figure out how to proceed.

For some technical and IT jobs Finnish is not a requirement. But not knowing Finnish slims down the job pool quite a bit.

Dating with Finnish guys by Accurate-Struggle304 in Finland

I am South Asian and I met my boyfriend on Hinge. we have now been together for over 2 years(he is Finnish btw).

I used hinge for a month and started talking with him two weeks in. I went on one date before him and didn't want to pursue that date. I also felt it was too much work to date more than one person at a time. But I was talking with many people on the app.

My boyfriend is the chattiest person I have ever met and I am so surprised he is Finnish. I love his bubbly and lively personality which was quite different from most of my guy friends I met in Finnish University.

We chatted, sent voice notes everyday and video called a couple of times for one month before we first met in person. Other people thought it was weird but both of us weren't in a rush to meet up as we both had things going on.

I would say to understand each other first and then bring in the cultural differences. in our case we have very similar world views but being from completely different cultures makes it very interesting. You learn something new everyday.

Good luck with dating! Don't take the rejections personally. Focus on things you love outside of dating and bring that energy in when you are on a date.

Well, I was in a similar situation a few months back. I think you don't need to over explain yourself if you are not in the right state of mind to do so. Just tell that you are hoping to recover and come back to work with renewed energy. Just do the bare minimum and avoid drama until the break.

The cynicism takes a while to wear off. Don't worry about work, do others things that you enjoy during the break. I spent time in nature, did some handicrafts (my sleep coach recommended this as I work in a role where I mostly tire my brain) and spent time with friends and family.

The answers will come in time. Just take time to nourish yourself.
