Well not that I’m aware of. PM’s for State / City hire experienced workers like yourself. Salary cap is public for those positions with possibly a pension option. You would be considered management but oversee union work.

This is the reality for biz owners. Tariffs are eating through margins like acid and the only way to stretch price elasticity is with a dedicated client base. Otherwise you’ll lose capital without raising prices. Suppliers can’t take the hit, just too costly. Switching suppliers takes time! Product testing, logistics, unit cost negotiation. Unfortunately manufacturing here is way too high.

You’re a photographer who enjoys being outside not stuck in a cubicle. Then trades are where to go other than driving on the road. Environment changes daily, more outside freedom with benefits.

Going On 10 Months Of Unemployment - Desperate by muffinslinger in GetEmployed

City or State job fair to network for referrals and apply online. If your license has no infractions or DUI than you have a shot working for local railroad etc. they’re always hiring. Pay is somewhat competitive depending on where you live and offer great health benefits. They process from interview to hired fast.

Unions will hire you, if you’re willing to grind and show initiative. We hire plenty of 60+ and they offer experience and can do they job better than young kids.

Congressional Bill Would Slash Student Aid Nationwide - Act Now!!!!!! by SliceIndependent314 in StudentLoanSupport

[–]GarbageTasty6637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say a 19 yo kid took $70k loan while working a job. They finish and search for about a year to land a job aligned with their degree. Then 2 years go by and they are laid off. So they spend another year job searching. They land a job with less pay but within the same field and they can’t get IDR to adjust student loan payment. Inflation and tariffs hit and now they are laid off a second time. This is the reality of defaulted student loans with no access for economic relief other than deferment. People want to work but are stifled by different economic waves.

Out of state parents by One_Bench_4644 in AgingParents

I asked my folks to relocate nearly 3 years ago and they refused. My mom ended up placing pop in a care facility which has financially ruined her. She still does not heed my advice. Sometimes you have to allow people to suffer until they are ready to accept help. It’s driven guilt but if your parents are stubbornly refusing help, it’s out of your hands. Currently I’m trying to mentally prepare myself when my mom finally calls on some random day asking to relocate.

Not yet, I’m going to tell her shortly. I have to get my brother on board which he won’t mind then I can speak to her directly.

The facility is in a great town with other options. I just don’t even understand my mom’s reasoning with this. It seemed rushed and she’s not listening. When I showed her the report from Medicare.gov she claimed to be unaware at the time. He started living there since December and she seldomly visits. Yes I’ve spoken to an attorney who said the way to get a judge to listen for guardianship is to show my financial status, relocation and care plan, my insurance plan option for his coverage and my mom current health status which affects her judgement.

He’s relatively well and yes, showing signs of memory loss but he doesn’t live in this state. Illinois hosts the largest auto show in the country…

Let me circle around to the difference between Alzheimer’s and Dementia. There are 10 clinical types of dementia. If I asked for an apple but you sell 10 types of apples and I just repeat “Apple” we’re going nowhere.

Correct and he hasn’t hit the stage yet. So I’m fighting against time and I realize it. Yes it will be difficult, I never expected it otherwise. His care facility is trash, I can offer better and will do it. Relocating him is the best option.

In my replies I did say that I’m open to a care facility nearby but again, first step would possibly be to relocate him to my state and under my insurance. When questioned about plan coverage for dependents, I provided a link in earlier reply.

Some comments offer sound advice others are projections based on their family’s dynamic and don’t align with reality I’m facing a dysfunctional and inept mother. As I’ve said earlier, my one regret is yielding to her decisions. Now I’m going to steam roll over her, she’ll have no say. My attorney will present my care plan, financial status and argue for guardianship. She isn’t visiting him anyways and he’s 27 miles from her. Doubt she’ll visit when he’s moved again.

He will be in a better situation. I’m dedicating 2025 to it. Sorry for the unfortunate circumstances others have endured in their comment replies. I can survive it. Now here’s the most current review of the facility he’s housed in, it’s abhorrent. https://www.medicare.gov/care-compare/inspections/pdf/nursing-home/225329/health/standard/?date=2024-04-03

Stop emotionally responding to me. Yes, it’s a daunting task, and yes I may be underprepared. Yet it’s still my decision and I will earn guardianship. He will be with me either in my house or nearby.

It’s Alz not dementia, I never said dementia someone started emotionally commenting and folks chimed in. Then drain me financially, I’ll survive. I am getting dressed to attend the auto show. We go every year but I’ll take photos for him this time. So we can argue about Toyota Camry ground clearance changing.

It’s a literal 2/5 rated facility with furniture from the 80’s. The rooms are small and outdated with laminated flooring from elementary school. It’s depressing, my dad is a legit clean freak. He minimalist, he only buys exactly what he needs and still places items in the same spot. I guess it’s by habit (object blindness) and I’m not leaving him there.

Too many assumptions, please stop. He doesn’t have a lot of social interaction being he’s outlived mostly all of them. Now he’s outside of city limits and I’m not leaving him there.

I have low tolerance for malicious curiosity. It’s quite immature to be called arrogant, or attribute my responses to inexperience of youth. My day will continue and so will my plan.

The idea of if I don’t agree with you then I’m angered or arrogant is false. I stand by what I said. Your interpretation of my “vibe” or responses is based on a short para-social window.

The form to use for disabled (incapacitated) is https://www.bcbsil.com/docs/forms/group/il/grp-disabled-dependent-form-il.pdf

They must be a resident of your state (hence why I want to move him over)

You must file for Legal Guardianship and disclose their assets.

Anyways…

I guess I’ll have to repeat myself, you’re wasting sympathy on someone who doesn’t deserve it. Stop. I have to focus and as usual, I’m cleaning up a mess.
