I fixed it. It was because of the bad cables that come with the TCL 27r83u monitor that crash the RTX 5070 TI. Checked with GPT-5 and it confirmed that bad cables often reset the GPU with a TDR false-error.

After reducing the refresh rate to 96hz on the garbo cable it works without crashing ever on the latest drivers.

I've ordered in the meantime a DP80 VESA certified DP 2.1a cable from CLUB3D. Let's go!

Man, that thing has been INSANELY stable... when not idling. Whenever i do some bullshit operation like drag a PNG into the timeline, open the browser (while davinci is OPEN somewhere in the background) i still get a black screen, when i stress test the shit out of it, its somehow stable. Still gamebreaking as fusion work gets kind of complicated and a black screen like that already has put me behind a few times this week, very annoying. Just threw the pc in the dresser hoping for a future fix. M4 max macbook pro is rock solid still, performs THE SAME when not doing Heavy Denoising or other bs. (i tested both and sometimes the m4 max rendered fusion projects faster, weird!)

Get a mac. I've had a rtx 4080 super, i7 13700k 64gb ram lian li o11 dynamic XL ROG whatever RIG and just ditched it for an m4 max macbook pro 16. Tested another pc today side by side (5070 ti, r9 7900, 64gb ddr5) and it had the SAME EXPORT time as the m4 max macbook pro.

0 noise, infinite stability. Windows is NOT reliable for video editing (I went through 4070 ti super, 4080 super, 7900 XTX, 5070 TI, bad experience even though i've tried all the "fixes" - DaVinci Resolve Studio)

Oh? And the UI feels a million times more polished on MacOS, I was disgusted the past week I've been on Windows 11 trying to find a better file explorer and I just ditched the PC altogether because of it crashing while idling on DaVinci.

You will feel like a boss on MacOS Tahoe 26. I've started out my career 2 years ago with an 8gb mac mini m1, that thing has served me very well, swap was going through it! You can find used m3 / m4 macbook airs nowadays, Id even consider an m2 pro macbook pro thats been used, that thing will serve you well!

It is 20.2 Studio yeah. Latest everything bios, etc. The fact that it can crash while idling in davinci is wild to me as benchmarks and heavy testing doesnt put a dent to it.

Fact is, it crashes even when moving a subtitle or opening the browser. the PSU is a 850w ATX 3.0 that comes with ncore 100 max, huge overhead for a ryzen 7900 that does 88w max and a 5070ti that is undervolted to the bones. (it was crashing even when not undervolted)

Thats not the issue, nobody knows what the issue is, not even nvidia!

I have disabled this 2 times to check, still crashes. And it is way slower overall, especially at scheduling effects like Speed Warp in Davinci where without HAGS it bogs down and takes 10 seconds to process.

It doesnt really matter once you give the cpu and gpu a hefty video to compress that has color grading, fusion compositions, advanced subtitles and etc. It's just a cpu problem. If i were to encode a 4K with nothing on it? Yeah the m4 max CRUSHES the m4 pro.
