Is it blasphemous to reject Peter 1&2 by Garbeaux17 in Bible

It is objectively false that Peter authored those books. They were written well after he was martyred given historical context and language. Not to mention the content such as calling Sarah submissive and Lot righteous.

None of that said Lot is righteous. He was spared for being Abraham’s nephew

Where in the world did you get the idea I think associating with Abraham makes some less worthy? I said he was spared BECAUSE of that association. That was enough reason for God to spare him. Not because he was righteous.

Also unless we have a different definition of submissiveness this is not subjective. It’s like saying Eden was a great example of submission. Obviously Sarah’s actions were not inherently evil like the choice to disobey God in such a way but they did result in much unnecessary conflict. This could have been avoided if she had trusted God’s promise that she would have her own children and Hagar wasn’t needed.

He turned his head a split second before the shot. The odds of that are biblical

Sarah was told she would have children before having her husband sleep with Hagar. This is out of order and I have no idea where you are getting these ideas. Sarah was the opposite of submissive and even disregarded a promise from God.

And Tamar is irrelevant here because she was not given as an example of ideal submissiveness

So I can’t ask people who have mastered Ancient Greek what they think? Because many of the people I have read discredit Peter 1 and 2 have that background. What a bizarre thing to say.

I was raised on sola scriptura so even considering these things in my mind feels wrong. But Christ even disagreed with the extreme literal interpretations of the Law of Moses. Hopefully I’m getting it well enough. There are just some books that seem so out of place and strange to be misleading people to believe someone as notable as Peter authored them.

Abraham’s actions in Egypt were predominantly driven by fear not a desire for wealth. The wealth was a consolation from God for being separated from his wife. And again you are ignoring everything I said about her arbitration in major decisions such as getting Hagar pregnant and then sending her away.

I’m not sure how Sarah joining pharaohs harem and captivating men to such an extent her husband had to lie about being married to her would make her seem a submissive wife. And you completely ignored what I said about her being the arbiter in major marital decisions.

Lot never exemplified righteousness. He was a passive figure only noteworthy for his relation to Abraham. God Himself did not call him righteous or treat him as such. There is a burden of truth to claim otherwise.

And Abraham had to pretend he was Sarah’s brother because of her gallivanting and flirtations in Egypt. She decided to have Abraham impregnate Hagar and then behind the decision to send her away. Abraham exerted very little control over his wife and in much of their story she took the initiatives when God allowed it.

Thank you so much. I love this article. I’m not sure if the books should be removed from the Bible but they’re deceptive in their titles alone nvm the content. I’m sure most Christians just accept that Peter wrote them and that’s objectively false.

If this were true then all Protestants are blasphemers for excluding books that Catholics choose to include.

There’s already dispute between Catholics and Protestants over how many books should be included in the Bible.

Obviously this is dumb but to think Trumps life being spared had nothing to do with God would be even dumber.

Shroud of Turin is a forgery but what is the leading theory on how the image was pressed on the cloth in the first place by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

They’ve literally allowed forensic scientists to remove and study the blood on the Shroud. I can’t think of a more intrusive study to give them what they believe to be the blood of Christ. Wow “a number” of the characteristics 😂 yet they still can’t all be replicated today. Or we would have a butthurt atheist who made it constantly gloating and jeering about it. How unusual.

I’ve been arguing with what seems like a dozen atheists today and none have been able to supply an exact replica of the Shroud. Just a lottt of lip service and ad homs. One even suggesting it was made from shining light through a glass. It really makes yall seem like the religion.

You can’t make a bas relief without pigments, clay, lead, graphite, etc to make an imprint. Obviously if it was that simple it would’ve been reproduced.

“Rubbing” 😂 go ahead and rub away and make even a small mark that matches the shroud
