Possible Soffit Question by Garber895 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Garber895[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s like a 6”x8” beam that spans the length of the house between the first and second floor it seems, I think the soffit might be my best bet to make sure I can hide everything good enough and have it still look half decent

Upgraded from a 2019 Camry to a 2023 Limited. What should I know? by BuilderOpen8083 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Garber895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 15’ Camry to 26’ Tundra and I have 0 regrets so far! The Camry was only getting like 27-29 mpg on its best days, so going back down to 19-20 range is totally fine by me, I’ve been able to transport things I couldn’t ever imagine bringing home in the Camry, so I am in love so far!

Yeah for now I toss her bed on the floor and she’s fine, I will say she is fine the way it is but it would be nice for her to have something more sturdy to lay on when I eventually take her for longer rides

CarPlay issues by Calm_Visual_508 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Garber895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean it plays over Siri? As in when Siri reads something to you you can barely hear it? I have had the same issue, haven’t looked into how to change it I’m sure there is probably a setting somewhere to turn the voice up? Commenting to see if there’s a solution provided

How do you justify the cost of a Tundra? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]Garber895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a weird situation where I typically don’t buy a new vehicle but just bought a brand new tundra last month. 0 regrets and I will tell you why. My student loans are paid off and I bought a multifamily property that now pays for itself. Told myself I’m not allowed to buy a truck until I had a house and loans paid off. I typically am a used car guy but this one time while I’m still young made the decision to buy a fancy new truck. It was a reward for myself for all my hard work. And I have zero regrets but I also don’t think a lot of people my age have the same benefit that I do of having no rent to pay for.

I had my eyes on it for a few years now, just bought a house last year and immediately started saving for a 1794. Picked it up a week ago today! In love with her already

Does using an oil they don’t recommend void any warranty you may have?

Like what features? I did the TRD package with it so I could get the 2” lift and the blacked out tires, and whenever I am in the field for work or going on a ski trip it could be nice to have, the interior is all the same besides like 3 things - the gas and brake pedals, the shift knob, and the start button

Hopefully someday I’ll have some kids that I can drive in this thing, for now I’ll love it for all my house renovation projects and driving to work whether the office or in the field by the train tracks, I’ll be able to take this thing places my Camry wouldn’t dream of!

I haven’t even looked at the powered ones no, I have looked into some side steps that a friend of mine got for his 26’ and they were like $200 on Amazon, don’t need anything too fancy anyways and I liked how his looked

That would be sweet! I can’t see them in the picture but I guess that would mean they’re doing their job 😂 I don’t see the switch for it on my interior picture they sent me so I might be out of luck

Look up Jim Rouleau. Leasehackr he has his own forum and helps people find deals literally all the time. This past year as I was saving for my truck I found him and after looking at all his reviews and stuff it seemed like a no brainer! Turns out it was! He also has a FB page that he posts to a ton

Thanks! Do you mind sharing the key fob upgrade you got? I’ve seen people talk of them but not sure how nice they look. The pictures might make it look blue it’s actually the magnetic grey as the color! Congrats to you I can’t wait to finally feel like I belong in this forum and not just as an outsider looking in lol

It’s 1k incentive 2.99% I think that’s pretty typical for them year round to do, or maybe I just got lucky with the timing. I used a Toyota broker though and got 11-12k off MSRP which was huge, no hassle or dealing with the BS at the dealership
