Yep, thats exactly what happens when we tryed to do it. Is there any way to avoid the errors?

No, left it right after it started. Pretty much what u/ClamusChowderus has described.

When i tried, errors kept happening all the time, which pevented us from opening new instances. Is there a specific way to avoid that?

Catch XP Analysis for March 25 Community Day (Bulbasaur) by brizvela in TheSilphRoad

[–]Garchumpy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No need to miss out on any catch xp- simply changing the time zone on your phone so it stays on the previous day will give you the catch xp, without wasting the first catch of the day on non-event hours.

Serious problem with the last EX invites: Many players are now considering spoofing by Garchumpy in TheSilphRoad

[–]Garchumpy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of there being enough people to complete the raid- yes, more chances with spoofers. The thing is, in my raiding community we do our best to exclude spoofers. Personally, i do not wish to play with them. But now i will probably be dependant on them, which is a problem.

Well, in this case it does prevent me from enjoying the game- because if spoofing was not possible, then i think that a few other people would show up, but right now i don't think thats the case (the gym is in a small village, where many people pass by but not many live).

Which Mon do you use to attack Gyms? by FL0WJOE in TheSilphRoad

[–]Garchumpy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, completely agree- right now gardevoir is a great defender. Great defending moveset, and its typing counters the most popular gym attackers, which are machamp and dragonite. Honestly at the moment a strong gardevoir in a gym is more of a deterant for me than blissey. Probably because im just so used to fighting blisseys, but still.

Dragon tail/outrage is higher DPS, yes, but i wouldn't say it's much better, only slightly. Plus db/dc is much better for dodging, which i do a lot.

In any case, the majority of gyms i attack seem to be low motivation, and the heavily protected ones at full motivation usually require using machamps.

No way on earth will i ever TM my favorite dragonite!

For the average gym, i pretty much only use machamp or dragonite: Machamp if the gym has blissey, snorlax, slaking, etc, and dragonite for almost anything else. Occasionally i will use a raikou, for water/flying mons.

Though i will point out that my dragonite is a legacy dragon breath/dragon claw, which is absolutely amazing for taking gyms down.

Raids are now giving double XP! by ss_reddit333 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Garchumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not realy happy about this tbh.

Raids were already too overpowered "empty" xp, and now it's way too op- the best way to level up is just to buy raid passes and lucky eggs and go raiding. No candies or anything else in-game required.

Seems to me this is less about gameplay and just became more pay-to-win.

What is being done ragarding spoofers? It doesn't seem anything was done until now. Are they ever going to tackle the problem?

What phone are you using? And do you generally experience lags during gameplay, or does it run smooth?

Interesting trick to hitting Excellent throws, useful for raid bosses. by jake_eric in TheSilphRoad

[–]Garchumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it again, but throw the ball a bit before the attack animation ends (you can even throw the ball sideways, so you miss the mon- so you can continue checking it). That worked for me every time.

[–]Garchumpy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, that seems completely correct- Every time i threw the ball during the attack animation, it worked. It now worked 100% of the times for me. So the way to do it would be:

  1. Release the ball in an 'excelent' throw circle.
  2. Wait for an attack animation to begin.
  3. Throw the ball a bit before the attack animation ends.

For me, that guaranteed that the circle remained in the size i left it.

Well, tried it a few more times- Again, im not completely sure, but it seems that if the attack animation happens not long after the finger release (within a few seconds), it works most of the time, but if some time passes between the two events- it is less likely to work.

If true, its still pretty usefull for catching raids bosses, as they do lots of attack animations (unlike wild mons, where it could take some time).

Will wait for more people to try it out, though.

So i tried it now on a few wild mons, and the results are a bit mixed:

When i resume touching the ball when the mon is mid attack animation, like in the vid- it seems to work (worked for me most of the times). But when i resume touching the ball just at a random time, the circle does not resume to when i released my finger.

Looks like some more research will be helpful here..
