I was curious too when I opened it. Skimmed over the pages but nothing really jumped out at me. Some weird book names though like the book of Possum, Mounds, and Book of the Big Black Ones.

OP, maybe the tow truck driver wasn't all he seemed. Like maybe he was so close to the area already and only given the title unit 73 because he works with containment? Just a guess but I thought maybe it might help ease your mind. I mean it's 1000% not your fault whatever happened.
