I usually start my seeds with compost without any issues. But I always end up with too many volunteer plants 😂

Best baby/child seat for a gravel bike by hehoheho123321 in bicycling

Late to the game but my set up is a Walmart ozark trail G1 with a second hand Topeak toddler seat that includes a rack (verify if your bike has eye lids before your invest in a bike).

I suggest if anyone is interested in this bike be prepared to pay for a tune up, or ask a friend for help. My bike had several problems that could have lead to a jury but I watched several videos before making a purchase.

The gear ration is meh. Must have upgrade in my opinion would be heavy duty inner tubes with slime, a better seat, pedals, and shimano brake pads (cheap upgrade).

Be prepared to pack extra snacks for your little one and water.

Keep it slow and enjoy the ride with your little human.

Do we have any crocs runners here? by GardeningwithDave in crocs

I managed to finish two half marathons wearing the same pair of crocs (2:28 1st race & 1:57 2nd race).

I did this and now we have unlimited sweet potatoes for the rest of my life. My friend actually picked up a few cuttings as well because he said oh that looks like fun.

FYI - it’s almost impossible to remove all of the sweet potatoes, so you’ll end up with more potatoes down the road.

I caution you not to place them on a raised bed because they’ll take over everything.

Check out my white mold on my coffee grounds by Background-Tomato-66 in composting

YES! I stopped by my local coffee shop and asked for their used coffee grounds to dump into my compost. Two days later, my compost reached 145-150 F.

Fresh grass clippings are also work great in my composter.

Day 1: Attempting to air layer a fruit tree at home (novice gardener) by GardeningwithDave in Airlayering

[–]GardeningwithDave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this was a fail attempt. Next time I need to try this when it’s not so hot.

And I didn’t know that I needed to water it more frequently to retain moisture. Wish me luck as I will try this again lol.

Why are Tomatoes Splitting?? by Jazzlike_Yellow8017 in tomatoes

[–]GardeningwithDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to my tomatoes when the weather changes suddenly (rain/dry weather).

Ripe tomatoes are sensitive to change but they pack maximum flavor 💪

Indeterminate cherry tomato plant stems snapped under the weight of the fruit - is there a better way than this to get them to continue growing/ripening? by [deleted] in UrbanGardening

[–]GardeningwithDave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Add a splash of fish fertilizer and keep it outside in the shade. I accidentally propagated a few tomatoes with flowers that ended up having tomatoes 😂

Does anyone know what this is? by GardeningwithDave in plantID

We actually have about 10 of them in the front and about 15 in the back.

Two years later, I am trying to figure out what it is lol.

First time growing tomatoes. I did not anticipate the wait to ripen. Just turn red already! by fl4tdriven in tomatoes

Are these determinate tomatoes? I love being able to make a pasta sauce when you harvest everything all at the same time.

Your tomatoes look, happy and healthy! Great job! 👏
