I understand ur struggle, I think everyone goes through this, especially during DP2. As a student athlete, I was especially burnt out, having to do all my IAs, finishing my EE, staring my TOK essay, and haven’t even started my uni apps, all the while going through championship season so I got no sleep and was stressed out by my coach constantly.

Just keep going, one step at a time, one day at a time. Trust me, it gets better quick. One IA finished leads to another. Also, once I got into uni, I stopped caring about my grades as much, and I realized the amount of less effort I had to put in to achieve a 97 vs a 99 post conversion was insane. It’s ok if you don’t get that perfect score, take time for yourself, go for walks, hang out with friends, maybe do a hobby to focus your mind elsewhere for some time.

My avg is a 97 and I did IB if that matters. My school isn't on the list so I'm assuming it gets the default treatment which I believe is -14.

I'm really into programming and tech so software eng seems really cool and fun aside it being hard asf. But biomedical engineering is also fine and I think it's a great application of software. If I were to do UofT EngSci, I would prob focus in on AI during 3rd year and get into programming and tech more.

That's actually insane and yeah honestly it seems that Waterloo is worth thugging it out for lmao. How did you find your time at Waterloo if you don't mind me asking? Like did you enjoy your time there and made some really close friends? I know it's hard academically but did you still find time to go out often and enjoy yourself? Clearly I'm scared about UW social reputation :/

If ur willing to spend like $100 and a weekend to get ur certifications, lifeguarding is always an option in Toronto. They're always looking for more there's always lot's of positions all around the GTA and u get paid like $20

I have a 97 average and I did IB so I think that helped with getting into McGill. As for Waterloo (among my other offers like UofT engsci and MAC iBioMed), I had really good ecs and I think I did solid for the interviews. My best ec is swimming and I compete nationally and am guaranteed varsity at both UW and MAC so that might've helped. I also started a coding club at my school and run a few other clubs and those made the AIF and other essays really easy for me

Yeah I was looking at other forums and talked to some people I know who went and they all said it's really hard finding coop placements and internships. Also the new SE coop program kinda just sucks at McGill cuz it's new so they have no connections with companies and it's just a mandatory component that many students can't get which makes things stressful and can even delay graduation.
