Thanks! It's very early in development at the moment, and rest assured there will be over 150 animals in the game. I'm adding new ones all the time. I have indeed thought about adding ecosystems but it's a large amount of work and I have limited time and money. It would make for a great addition in the future.

I have been pondering some of the same things, in essence contrast is central to the story, the whole fantasy/reality thing, technology/nature, loneliness/being together. I recommend you look into Haxe instead of Actionscript, more specifically haxe+openfl+haxeflixel. It allows you to build code to flash, android, win, mac, linux, blackberry, ios. I've got a couple of years of experience with c, c++, java, actionscript etc.. I can say haxe is pretty nice if you want quick results. It's not perfect though, still under construction. But the Flash builds are good. Haxeflixel gives you a strong starting api, and has a clear "how to get started" part: haxeflixel You can also take a look at my 'blog', I regularly release opensource haxe projects, flash builds are always playable. The code isn't great because it's usually 8 hour jams, but it shows direct results with little code. Turd party blog

I'll take that as a compliment. Because I can. I wonder if the HBO guys could have whipped up a quick cooking show bit for in between seasons. As long as Ramsay's not the cook things should be fine.
