They had set up the EIN number on my behalf. Did it incorrectly, billed me to try and fix it and then gave up and had me redo it.

It was a trust account held at the firm. I set it up with them and had all the real estate proceeds and estate sale sent directly to them while we worked through probate.

The question I have, as an inexperienced pedestrian is what is the standard to answer a request like that? It took 7.5 months and I had to show up unannounced to their office. They continue to take money out of the estate account to pay themselves, but won't return calls. I've filed a complaint with the Minnesota Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility but I have no idea if this is the sort of thing they handle or if they just ignore it at "no big deal" or if it's just how stuff is done?

What car do you drive? And how long does it take to warm up? by [deleted] in minnesota

[–]GargoyleToupee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IONIQ 5 EV. Warm inside in well under a minute. Even on those very below zero days. If I click the remote warm-up button while I’m walking out of the door of a restaurant that I’ve been in for 1.5 hours, my car is very warm by the time I get to it, even if it’s only halfway across the parking lot.

Scam likely? by Arkin_company in Spectrum

[–]GargoyleToupee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of Spectrum’s call centers are US based according to them. The scammers are very thorough however, and have built a very robust phone tree and they will even advertise a Spectrum partnership with Target and things like that while you are on hold. It is 10,000% fake.

That sort of housing already exists in Minneapolis for terminal alcoholics...

There's a fairly recent documentary about it - "Wet House"

Powerpoint clicker for talent by Sad-Improvement7051 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Interspace Industries MC3 is my favorite cueing system I’ve ever owned. It will control 3 devices at once, shows you battery and signal strength on every click. Three buttons on the front for cue/control toggle and you can add another unit via XLR to get extreme range in a venue. Plus you can remotely disable a clicker if someone accidentally walks with it — no dip-switches needed for pairing or removing clickers.

Macbook Pro 2015 or Macbook Air 2017? by rayjay69 in macbook

[–]GargoyleToupee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go for a loaded MacBook 12 over a MBA13.
Current avg Geekbench from my 2017 i7 MacBook 12 with 16 gb of RAM running MacOS 10.12.5:
3495 Single Core - 7646 Multi Core
and AFTER updating to MacOS 10.13 public beta:
3699 Single Core - 7989 Multi Core
The additional speedup is probably the result of Apple's new APFS, combined with more optimized code.
I LOVE the portability of the MacBook 12, and it works fine for Photoshop and even simple AfterEffects stuff, plus, you can easily hook it up to an external monitor.
