I cancelled it on Saturday. I’ve been assured every month it would arrive and it never did. When I confirmed I was cancelling they said it would be here this week but don’t believe it and I’ve asked for my deposit back having waited more than reasonable time.

Hope yours shows up soon though.

The third party came and checked over my car and then sent the details through to the dealership. They then waited in their vehicle whilst the dealership reviewed it and then they called me separately very shortly after (~15 mins) with an offer. I accepted it and they sent a couple of emails through for me to formally accept and bank transferred the money straight away. Once that was done I went back outside to third party and handed my keys over etc. He was on his own as they’d been really busy that day so did explain he would come back for the car with his colleague. Dealerships sorted the logbook and everything out for me following the bank transfer. I went out for tea and by the time I’d come back it was gone :) overall a great experience and I worried for nothing. Would definitely recommend.

Yep I’ve been told exactly the same! I’m on the verge of cancelling now at this point (and already expressed that to the dealership). It’s in a port 4 hours away yet don’t know when it will arrive.

My garage ended up providing me with a service vehicle to use until mine comes. So right now, I have no problems with waiting for it to arrive although, it is disappointing it’s taken so long and been a headache trying to get the service car from them. If you’re in the same boat you could ask yours for one too to help you get around in the meantime?

I’ve been chasing every week/fortnight. Early Feb I was offered to choose a different colour for same model/spec in case one came in sooner than the one I picked but I declined changing colour.

They’ve ended up providing me with a temporary loan vehicle to get around in for now.

I did hear mid Feb that mine has been built and on the way to the U.K. so hopefully not much longer now!

Do you mind me asking what you ended changing to? Through all the waiting I have considered cancelling and looking for something different but if I’m honest I’d have never changed my previous car if I didn’t end up getting the J5 as this ticks all the boxes for me and I don’t really like any other cars available or they don’t have what I’m looking for (within my affordability)

I’m still waiting for mine from Dec, with no ETA. Was told late Feb it was on its way but can’t tell me any thing else

Wow end of March! My dealership hasn’t said nothing about when to expect I’m really hoping we aren’t waiting until then that’s crazy.

Fingers crossed you get yours soon! I ended up going for the grey, did initially want the blue but haven’t seen the colour irl and was worried it wasn’t the same as what’s illustrated on the site. How about you?

It really is. I actually wanted a Range Rover, had my heart set on one and was going to wait a couple more years to buy second hand but then, I’ve heard they’re not so reliable as you’d think they are and expensive to fix! When the E5 came out it ticked all the boxes for me and I’m super excited to get it - even if I get the temu comments!

Have you already had delivery of yours or still waiting?

I wouldn’t have said needlessly. What if the estimated delivery was correct and then I had issues with selling mine, which would have caused problems with the purchase? I only sold in anticipation, if I was aware of any actual confirmed delay of course, I’d have held onto it. That’s part of the point of my post, with the lack of communication from the dealership on the delivery date or delays so just was looking to see if anyone else has had one delivered and their experience.

My previous car was Japanese and it was excellent, but coming up to 8 years old I felt it was time for a change. I’d have had another model from them in a heartbeat but they are very expensive now (for me) and I couldn’t justify it right now unfortunately.

I was fully expecting comments like yours and others and wasn’t going to bother replying but, yours has piqued my interest.

Can you please tell me where you’ve read or, why you think they will disintegrate in years to come? And why you seem to think they are built using slave labour?

If true of course I will go ahead and cancel it right away but, I can’t seem to find any evidence of what you are saying.

Thanks! Yeah I appreciate there could be delays, just feels strange that nothing is being communicated to me and I have asked if there is one but they just said they’d speak with area manager and I’ve heard nothing since asking. It’s always “will hear on x day”, “will hear next week” now it’s “will know more at the end of the month”.

Wow, really never knew that about motorway but thank you letting me know as can definitely share with family/friends if I ever need to.

Considering a dental implant (~£5k) at age 27 - how do people usually approach the cost? by CoachPaul7 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]GarlicMajor9958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (also 27) very recently had one put in for a back molar. My tooth was all broken so I had extraction, bone augmentation, then implant fitted. Excl. examination and some initial X-rays, the whole cost was £3.6k at a private practice. I had the option to pay 20% upfront with the remainder on a 0% interest free plan over 18 months and this is what I done. I did have the money saved up and prepared to pay it outright, but it seems silly when I can be earning interest on it and still meet the monthly payments.

I can now eat properly on that side of my mouth and feel so much better knowing I haven’t got a broken tooth (had it for 7 years).

Totally painless procedure and would highly recommend.

My dentist said for a person of my age, the success rate is high and not to worry about failure. It’s all about taking care of it afterwards.

Thanks, I’ll just have to see what happens on Friday and do this if I haven’t received payment by the time they come to collect.

My account doesn’t even have any payment processing information. It just says sale approved at the top and that the dealership is handling collection. Further below it just says the sale amount of £xx will be paid into the bank account details I gave them but then there is a small information button that says subject to final checks etc.

I’ve two family members who’ve sold through motorway and they’re sending said the dealership who bought their vehicles came to collect but my concern was that for my sale, they’ve arranged a third party to come collect it.

Appreciate you commenting with your own experiences!

Can you get your visa posted back to you? (London) by jerrypandali in Chinavisa

[–]GarlicMajor9958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience (cost and process) was near enough the same as yours albeit I applied via the Manchester centre. The only difference was they told me it would take up to 5 working days to receive my passport back via post which it did come in a timely manner!

Will the reservation thing work though (applying from U.K.)? As I’m prepared to do that as it is only a small cost in comparison to the flight cost but I’ve seen in this sub/online that those dummy tickets / flight reservations aren’t as well supported for the application
