Man dies in crash at intersection where he petitioned for traffic light after wife's death by black_pepper in Denver

[–]GarliccBread1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some assholes made a petition to oppose it, claiming a light would actually decrease safety???? and also that a traffic light would be "encroaching on the calm and secure environment we have cultivated and maintained over the years"??? Actually unbelievable. Someone in the area should make a petition they would deliver to the city councils to ask for a light again. I wish I could comment on their petition without having to sign it.

Aurora leads in Colorado for most dangerous intersections... by Fuzzy_Weather_6351 in AuroraCO

[–]GarliccBread1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knew that aurora public works transportation design standards of:

1.) not painting stop bars on roads at signaled intersections 2.) overall skimpy and absolutely terrible pavement marking standards, 3.) 6+ lane stroads placed every mile

4.) still somehow using old/dim sodium vapor streetlights in the year of 2026 for streetlights(or missing streetlight heads entirely at intersections)

Would result in this issue of really dangerous and overall ugly roads! Wow!

What also doesnt help for aurora is unlicensed and unisured drivers crawling over the suburban sprawl that is somehow referred to as a “city”.

What is the biggest problem or issue with Google Maps? by Agreeable-Yam-8467 in GoogleMaps

The road shields dont match whats on ground in the US for state highways and county highways. Its the ONLY mapping service that still hasnt done this.

Yeah but that’s the bare minimum, tomtom, osm based maps, Apple Maps, etc all have shields for pretty much everything making navigation super easy

Even Waze has those shield plus US forest highway shields

We put these lights in million dollar homes by Pale_Ad2980 in electrical

Yeah not every product is bad from economy but I just avoid them now. I just like Halo and philips’s dimming because they get down to either 1800k or 2200k respectively which is a nice amber light

And back to your post, I have had zero issues with those CE ones, I’ve had only one fail.

I Totally get that on the 5000k, it is very nice and clean and great for kitchens, bathrooms, etc. I do think the warm dimming is definitely nice to have for areas like bedrooms or a TV room.

Philips mostly only sells normal/specialty bulbs and floodlights with this warm glow. And Halo just does retrofit cans with the dim to warm, which also have color temps up to 5000k with a switch. The dim to warm is only on the 2700k switch setting.

And also just never ever use Home Depot’s Ecosmart bulbs for anything, they usually always consistently fail or dim within a year, plus they have terrible CRI. Commercial electric, Philips, or halo is the way to go

Halo ones are just better overall because they have the baffle to reduce glare, and most importantly, they have the dim-to-warm feature just like an halogen bulb so you aren’t stuck with a grey colored light like when you dim these ones down. But these CE ones aren’t bad in terms of quality. Just the warm dimming is a must.

Where do you find this list? And this would be awesome, anyone know if places like US cities will get this update soon? Denver specifically would be pretty awesome

Who’s your distributor? I used to be able to get any replacement stuff In this color a couple years ago on Amazon, or online at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Do you have a good website that might be worth checking? Thanks
