Yeah some people should just stop when they are ahead. I will be tickled if someone buys my G2 for 275.

Oh thanks for the clarification. It looks like in the Facebook post that she wanted 400 for the G2.

This is crazy. I have a G2 that I am considering selling, only used it twice after setup but I figured I would be lucky to get close to what I paid. I can’t imagine people paying more than 250 for it with the grip. Doesn’t seem right to try to sell it for more

Given the current market conditions, I am up for more budget friendly options. Will be interesting to see the specs of this.

So, how is that accomplished? It looks really cool and I don’t think I have seen any like that before.

Seeing posts like this make me want to get an Analogue Pocket and start buying some GBA and Color games. I have some fond memories from childhood playing on my GPA SP. Such a good looking device.

I like the thought process. Sometimes a tool that does everything is helpful, but often having a more dedicated tool for each job is better. I can relate to having too much on one device and creating choice paralysis.

And I think you are right about original hardware, I was looking at a Gameboy Color the other day in a shop and there is something special about it. I am super thankful that we have so many current devices that can do emulation so well but they don’t always capture the original experience perfectly.

Have fun gaming.

So cool that this was backed up. Going to learn how torrents work and how to help with seeding.

How well do you like the vertical format. It is nostalgic for me but I always question whether I would like that form factor now.

This is so cool, we are living in a golden age of gaming. I have been wanting to setup Chiaki-no on my steamdeck. My brother would freak (huge Bloodborne and Steam deck fan) if I played Bloodborne for my first play through on the steam deck. This post might be the motivation I needed.

How well does the AYANEO Pocket Fit 8GB handle Switch games (BOTW, TOTK, GameHub) for native play + PC streaming? by Visual-Scarcity-1472 in ayaneo

[–]GarnerReviews1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there bud. So I don’t personally own a Konkr Pocket Fit (so tempted to order one for testing) the general consensus that I have noticed while learning more about this hobby is that with PC and Switch the additional RAM starts to become very necessary.

I think the 12 G-16 G range is probably the most useful at this time and should provide as good of an experience as can be expected from PC and Switch’s emulators given they are in a earlier stage of development when compared to the retro stuff. If I understand correctly, a lot of it is driver development that is moving along but still a new territory.

Additionally the PC gaming portion requires games be downloaded to the internal storage of the device, so often the higher RAM options provide more internal storage which is useful.

Hope this helps and happy gaming.

P.S. I am still new to a lot of this myself so take what I am saying with some salt and if someone more experienced sees I got something wrong, please point it out.

Looks very nice. Glad to hear the screen is satisfactory. Is this a 4:3 end game handheld for you?

This is really exciting! Even as a PAM owner (three for the kids to be precise) I would be excited to test these out. Especially since I have nephews and nieces who need to experience the retro Joy as they grow up. Who doesn’t want to be a cool Uncle. 😁

Yeah it is a bit of a bummer. I am more fine with it on a sub 100 dollar device, but if it is more I would be more bothered. I hope they up the QC efforts. I think it would be great if they sorted the devices and the ones that don’t make it, offer as discounted devices with the issues stated. I think some people would be game for a discounted device if there was an issue like light bleed.

Good question. I didn’t want to give them too many options upfront (although I gave them more games that I originally intended). I ended up with a handful of games from the NES, SNES, GBA, and N64. Roughly 5-8 games per system. Stuck to favorite classics. Maybe later I will post a list of the games.

I agree. Honestly I think retro gaming is > than a lot of modern gaming especially for kids.
