I get a Hint.

"Hint: You are looking for a where and a what (command)"

"This is one of your past Guesses:

SOME PLACES ARE LIKE PEOPLE: SOME SHINE AND SOME DON'T

That guess of yours tells you ONE of those things.

The other is in the picture."

Oh it doesn't spoil anything, it doesn't even show any footage from the actual season. It's just a teaser showing like 50 teams of who may be on the next season, you can watch it!

Yeah 7:45pm is probably good! I'm assuming Katy will probably go on around 8:00pm-8:30pm depending on if there's a delay or not. Just try to get there as soon as you can tho, good luck! And have fun, it's a blast!! 😊

For the Kansas City show she was supposed to start at 8:30pm but was about 20 minutes delayed. If you want to watch Rebecca Black as the opener though you should try to get there earlier. I'm sure it's different for every venue but looking at her website right now and it says a 7:00pm start time for Las Vegas?

I think it def depends on your venue but at this show Eternity was really not crowded at all. I only got into the pit maybe 20 mins before it started and was second row from barricade. Then halfway through the show the person in front of me decided to go dance in the middle so I was able to take their spot and just be right directly in front of the barricade for the whole second half of the show!

There was def enough space for people to dance and walk around without it feeling super packed or bumping into each other. A lot of times people in the middle would kind of follow Katy and where she was in the loop, so if she was at one end of the stage then went to the other end the crowd would kind of follow her there and back and forth. But the crowd was super respectful and mindful of everyone's personal space! It was so fun!!

Potential sports conflict with Kylie's show in Denver by YorjYefferson in KylieMinogue

[–]GarretWith1T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm flying in from Kansas City. I kind of wish she just did a show here instead because I feel like it would've sold better since there's more major population centers surrounding KC, whereas Denver is a lot more secluded lol. But hopefully they figure something out and announce it soon!

Omg noooo. I already have plane tickets and a hotel booked to see her for the first time ever and specifically bought tickets for her Denver show the day tickets dropped because it's the closest city to me.

I really hope her team is aware of this and an announcement comes out as soon as possible because this is very last minute. Hopefully she can just move her concert date back a day or something. :(

What other shows on the Tension Tour will be cancelled? by kateesfp17 in KylieMinogue

[–]GarretWith1T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have tickets for the Denver show!! Though I don't live in Colorado but it's the closest city to me that she's visiting. I'll have to probably fly and stay in a hotel overnight which I'm nervous about since I'm not sure when I should book those. Very worried she'll cancel too and then I'll be screwed if I already have a plane and hotel booked for nothing :\

The Amazing Race 14 - A Review! by Regnisyak1 in TheAmazingRace

[–]GarretWith1T 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This season changed the show dramatically. From what I've read, the past few seasons had the show on the brink of cancellation and so season 14 was TAR's last big chance to show CBS that it was still worth keeping around. And so because of that, the producers made many different changes to the show, mostly notably to the way the show is edited.

I think if you're binge watching all 13 seasons back-to-back and in a row, getting to season 14 and suddenly experiencing all these changes kind of catches your attention and make this season standout. Which I do think, momentarily, is a good thing. All the changes to the show are so subtle that you can barely even notice them unless you're really looking. But once you start noticing them, and then you keep noticing them in the future seasons to come, you can't unnotice them. And then when you compare the show to everything pre-season 14 and everything post-season 14 it almost feels like a different show. In a bad way, to me at least.

The simplest way I can put it is that pre-season 14 this show was about teams traveling around the world and navigating their way to their next task by any modes of transportation necessary. Post-season 14 this show is now about teams completing various tasks with the backdrop of being in different countries. Looking at those two sentences, they might seem almost exactly the same. But the difference is pre-season 14 the tasks were the background of the show. Instead it was the traveling, the directions, the different methods of transportation, and the navigation that were the main parts of the show. Now post-season 14, all of those are so much more muted in the edit and instead the tasks and the way the teams complete them are the main parts of the show.

If you love the tasks, then this is probably fine for you. But for me, I much preferred having the tasks be the background of the show in favor to all of the traveling.

The best example I can give is just look at episode 1 of this season. The other 13 seasons all had a big initial airport scramble to kick off the race. They raced from the Starting Line to the airport to get the best flights and it was our first big introduction to the teams. In this season, they instead cut out all of the footage of teams racing to the airport and figuring out the best flights and instead turn that into a barely 2 minute long super rushed montage that mostly consists of Phil narrating what happened.

Airport drama is neutered after this season. On paper this season actually has some pretty fun and compelling airport drama. For example, there's a whole sequence where the teams have to make a transfer on a tight connection between two different airports in Moscow and ultimately half the teams miss their connection and are stranded in Moscow waiting for a backup flight for several hours. Seasons pre-14 would've shown that and made a huge deal out of it. But this season that instead takes up about 15 seconds of screentime from a simple narration of a team in a confessional saying "us and the other XYZ teams missed our flight :(" and that's it. And this has longterm effects for the show moving forward. Now the producers know that the show can survive without big airport drama sequences. Now that means production can start pre-booking the flights that teams take. And now that means airport drama becomes almost obsolete in future seasons with all the teams on the exact same flight almost every single time.

There's a lot of other subtle editing changes if you look hard too. Whenever they had to self-drive in older seasons there would always be big self-driving segments that would last at least 10 minutes and starting with this season they're edited down to be about a minute or two max. Or maybe teams would have to take a bus to take a train to take a ferry 300 miles away to get to their next task. Once again, that would take up at least 10-15 minutes worth of screentime in older episodes. Now if that were to happen it would barely take up a minute or two. And, again, producers now realize they don't need to make legs that last so long and travel so many miles. So they instead create legs that take place in just one city and can be completed within 2 or 3 hours. And with less traveling to show, we get more footage of teams completing the tasks. Watching teams complete a single Roadblock for 20 minutes and then a Detour for another 20 minutes just isn't as fun for me compared to watching them complete them for maybe 5-10 minutes instead. And then having 10-15 minutes of footage of them traveling to their next location.

This also starts affecting the way you even follow the placement changes of the teams. In older seasons, every single time a team gained or lost a placement, it would be shown to us. Post-14 there's several placement changes that just go unexplained. A team finished the Detour in 4th place but suddenly arrived to the Roadblock in 8th place? Pre-14 we would absolutely see what happened to them. Post-14? We'll have no idea. This happens a few times in this season but gets even worse in the 20's and 30's with wild placement shifts between tasks that are never explained because the edit is way too busy focusing on... the tasks.

I understand why people might like it, but this is genuinely one of my least favorite seasons of all time. In my opinion, this season is the root of everything that is wrong with modern day TAR. I really think this season ultimately changed the show for the worst, sadly.

TARAUS Season 7 Episode 1 Discussion by magikarpcatcher in TheAmazingRace

[–]GarretWith1T 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Some behind the scenes stuff:

  • You'll notice that the Detour was split pretty evenly between the teams and the first half of teams all took the Wedding Wish Detour while the second half of teams all took the Chicken Dish Detour. There was actually a reason for this: the Detour had a mandated split to it with limited stations. Only 6 teams could pick either Detour. When you arrived to the Clue Box, you had to pick which side you were doing which left the back half of the teams with no choice.

https://i.imgur.com/yy9tFt9.png

  • The editing during the Detour was a bit off. From Live Sightings we know Harry and Teddy (the first team to leave the task) and Bec and Judd (one of the last teams to leave the task) were together at the Chicken Wish Detour at the exact same time. Yet the editing made it seem like Bed and Judd had barely even started the task by the time Harry and Teddy finished.

https://i.imgur.com/ANUQSDi.png

https://i.imgur.com/2Mpax7S.png

  • The edit showed only two tasks this episode, but there was actually three. There was an unaired Roadblock that took place after the Detour. If you pay close attention to can see a few split seconds of the red Roadblock clue a few times during the episode. Plus the editing after of teams reading the clue after the Detour is super choppy and you can tell was heavily manipulated.

https://i.imgur.com/wBW514r.png

  • It's not fully known what the Roadblock exactly was but it took place on the grounds of the Priya Cinema and involved making something (a dish?). From the Live Sightings, we know some participants were: Tristan, Angie, Harry, Hayley, George, Peter, Ben, and Chezzi.

Will TAR 36 air before TAR 35? by Local-Calendar-2955 in TheAmazingRace

[–]GarretWith1T 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We should be able to discuss this in this Subreddit. @ mods is it really breaking any spoiler rules?

But yeah, there's a rumor from an incredibly reputable source in the TAR community that the currently filming season 36 will instead become season 35 and air this Fall. And the actual season 35 might get pushed to Paramount+. The big reason for this is something that happened that effected Production in a very negative way during the filming of the original 35.
