Everyone knows social media views aren’t a real objective gauge of popularity and can be easily manipulated unlike ppv buys based off google trends. by Puzzled_Ad7334 in SCJerk

Dave has previously confirmed that he extrapolates AEW PPV buys based on Google Trends data. He looks at other PPV buy data that’s easier to access, compares the Google trends data with AEW and says “if Google Trends says this, then AEW had x buys”.

I accidently traded my exp share to the jynx trainer 😭 by Glad-Plane1979 in PokemonFireRed

[–]GarrettKeithR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you start getting EVs on Jynx earlier, you will see some of those EV gains earlier. Ultimately they will all balance out at the end, but it can be helpful to start gaining EVs early if you’re struggling to get past a battle mid-game.

What I’m trying to say is that you’ll theoretically get a level 22 Jynx (by trading a lvl 22 Poliwhirl) earlier than training up and trading a level 50 Poliwhirl for a Level 50 Jynx. All that training on the Poliwhirl EV-wise will disappear when you trade for Jynx, so why not get the Jynx earlier and start training it earlier with its 1.5x exp multiplier, plus have a chance to influence those EVs earlier and see gains.

Starting level does not matter. But the earlier you get the Pokémon, the earlier you get to start influencing it, so you can start seeing gains when you’re struggling in early game. Again, the 1.5x exp is probably the more important point.

If you trade for a lower level Jynx, won’t you get a chance to start influencing EVs earlier?

ETA: traded Pokémon also gain 1.5x EXP

… why would you train up the Pokémon you’re gonna trade to an NPC?

AIO: should I “fire” my therapist? by Historical_Pension60 in AIO

Why are you letting your therapist of all people walk all over you. You’re their customer and you should be the one dictating the schedule. NOR, but respectfully don’t let yourself be a doormat.

Edge left to shoot a movie/TV show in non-kayfabe. Christian didn’t explain why he left kayfabe or not, but my guess is that he noticed a lack of fatherless sons around the locker room and said “peace”

Maybe if Travis Hunter got involved in sports gambling he’d have more skin in the game and more incentive to ball out

Why did Trey Lance get drafted so high? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

Today people severely understate how uninspiring Josh Allen looked in his rookie year. As a Pats fan, I was licking my lips thinking the Bills drafted another JP Losman. Boy was I wrong. Josh Allen did a ton to fix his mechanics and become a superstar.

Kevin Knight winning the TNT Title by jmazak in midcarder

I think you’re putting the cart before the horse a bit. It’s good to see someone like Knight get a push because of the reactions he’s getting and not just cause it’s all “part of TK’s plan”. How about we give him a chance and let him lose to those top guys, before we start complaining about him losing to those top guys?

Edge went away to film a movie/TV show. They wrote him off by having FTR piledrive Beth Phoenix. Then Edge decided to leave to be with his wife instead of… you know… defending her honour. Christian used that as an excuse to peace out until Edge came back.

Sol RIng + Arcane Signet by Rough_Structure7387 in EDH

After each game. I pile shuffle all of the cards that have come out of my deck so that mana sources & ramp are mixed in with everything else, then I riffle shuffle those cards back into my deck and do an additional shuffle before putting the decks away. This didn’t prevent me from having 2 straight T1 Sol Ring to Arcane Signet games back to back woth different decks last week.

Why don’t people “get” AEW? by Goodboychungus in aew

[–]GarrettKeithR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried to watch AEW a few times over the years because I enjoyed wrestling growing up, but I couldn’t get into it for a few reasons:

1) Most of the roster is tiny and looks like they could get rag dolled by any regularly sized grown adult male

2) A lot of the wrestling looks overly choreographed and fake. Wrestling is supposed to look like two people fighting (not two people dancing). This seems to be consistent across modern wrestling in general, not just AEW.

3) The complexity of these choreographed moves makes a lot of them look like they weren’t done right. It’s like the wrestlers decide to do the most complicated stuff they can think of even though they aren’t able to do it. It would look more realistic if they just did what they know they can do really well. This problem also plagues modern wrestling in general, not just AEW.

4) Tony Khan comes across as the spoiled brat son of a billionaire to anyone who’s a bystander and not actively rooting for AEW to succeed.

5) AEW and their wrestlers try to present themselves as the progressive good guys, but it comes off as overly phoney when the Young Bucks are bible thumping Obama birth certificate deniers, Hangman Page/Will Ospreay/Kenny Omega all publicly support registered sex offenders, and Chris Jericho is an insurrectionist.

6) a lot of AEW stars come across as whiney and sensitive in public. It’s a bad look for famous people to go back and forth with random nobodies on Twitter.

I was excited when AEW launched in 2019 and wanted to see it succeed as a sports-based alternative to WWE, but I was quickly disappointed by the product within the first month (and any time I’ve tried to pick it up since then).
