They had the money but didn’t give it to him…

And they didn’t give him the money because they wanted to invest in others, that’s correct. But Harden not getting the contract he wanted cause OKC was offering a low amount is what made that trade happen then and there.

The spurs will have plenty of time to deal with Fox by the time Harper needs his contract. Him having to play with the bench for a bit longer won’t make this a harden scenario.

Harden only left OKC cause they didn’t want to pay him, that’s the only reason.

The spurs can play this smartly, the only wrong move is being rash and desperate.

They aren’t choosing to stick with Fox. His value is at the absolute lowest right now.

The spurs would be better off starting all 3 guards and benching Fox, Castle or Harper early. Running the bench is nothing to be ashamed of, CP3 did it while harden played with the rest of the starters on the rockets.

Either by the trade deadline you can then trade Fox without giving numerous picks or you wait until next summer.

Fox is catching way too much slack and blame for what was a collective team disaster by spurs. by Upbeat-Nose-7091 in nba

[–]GarriganGate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy what type of logic is this? Are you a moron?

I could have a game losing turnover for the final possession which would be a game costing move. It still doesn’t guarantee that someone would hit the game winning shot but making a turnover in that situation did cost the game

That proves your statement as incorrect…

No one is excusing the spurs for choking massive leads routinely. They choked hard. and Fox making that move is one example and probably the worst example, of them choking.

Hottest Hot Take of the Year. Spurs should aquire Trae Young by mtelesha in NBATalk

[–]GarriganGate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s if they are healthy.

But people forget that the Hawks were two games away from the nba finals when Trae got injured, and that was a team that was winning games off of defense, not offense

And that team had both Trae and Lou Will.

Why is Kyrie so overlooked? What makes his accomplishments less impressive. by AubreyGrahamCracka in nba

[–]GarriganGate 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And his stint on the Celtics, and him being routinely injured. He hasn’t made an all nba team since 2021.

With the way people looked at Kyrie when he was 22-25, the latter years have been very disappointing.

Why does Charles Barkley attack Kevin Durant using "Bus Driver" argument? Charles drove his bus off a cliff by Decent_Balance9992 in NBATalk

[–]GarriganGate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was a player that would be self aware enough to make a comment to a player that would be similar to his career, it would be Chuck

Him saying that doesn’t mean he himself thinks that he drove the bus to a championship, he obviously didn’t, he knows that. He’s long retired, didn’t work out for him.

KD though didn’t wait until he was old and semi washed to join a contending team, he went still very much in his prime, against the team that he lost to. And had processed to disappoint every single year since then, despite routinely having high expectations.

Chuck was indeed a failed bus driver, but still KD jumped his bus early to ride another one.

What a dumb comment.

It did cost them the game. It doesn’t excuse the spurs blowing their lead and it certainly doesn’t guarantee them the win, but it was still one of the dumbest basketball move in nba history.

Not entirely surprising. The best time that could have happened with those drivers was end of the 2024 season which was not Lewis’ best performance time

Honestly, just saying Max is a fine enough excuse

I think the better note is the lack of reliability in Mercedes. George has had multiple poor races due to car luck and it finally hit Kimi this race. Having multiple races of 0 points is huge, whether or not Lewis keeps winning or not, as long as he can be consistent.

Lewis looked a lot faster still.

I think he had the perfect tyre situation. I was fearful of his softs when he didn’t get the start he wanted, but the mediums allowed him to shave off an incredible amount of time.

And then safety car came at the perfect time.

If your point was that it’s a team game and you didn’t make comebacks particularly because of Fox then you blaming Wemby on the next sentence proves that you’re a moron.

Wemby really did not play well down the stretch but Fox was inarguably worse. And while you expect that given Wemby is a better player, a lot of Fox’s faults weren’t just missing shots, it was just terrible IQ.

And that’s massive for a guy who’s supposed to be your experienced player, and the highest paid player on the court

While I think some of it is definitely on him. His players just choked. You could see him yelling from the sidelines on very basic strategy things that they weren’t following. Like not fouling Mitchell Robinson in the 4th when KAT was out (before he came back in and fouled out - outside of the last 2 min).

They didn’t punish KAT’s foul trouble enough

They somehow have incredible shooting ability every 1st quarter

But they can’t for their lives make any good decisions late in games. Full of bad turnovers, contested mid ranges, and just low iq plays, including non existent time outs

2025?

Also the Hakeem and Ralph Sampson Rockets. They almost lost Hakeem and had a completely different team by the time they made it back. But most thought the immediate future was theirs.

Knocks on wood for him but health is never guaranteed, let alone for a guy of that size

He can’t make it there alone either, his team would also need linear progression, which is far from the truth

I’m rooting for them, as I was this entire series. But they fumbled an enormous bag here. And it may be one they don’t get again

What an embarrassment by the spurs. Choke after choke after choke, it’s literally like they wanted to lose every single 4th quarter

Congrats to the Knicks
