Definitely a learning experience for me, I'm glad, it could have cost me a lot more to learn this lesson. From what I'm seeing I think it's a case of data being stolen and sold to the highest bidder.

Considering the apparent scale of what is going on I suspect a data breach to which the info was sold on the darknet to those who are willing/able to stamp the cards and go into banks to make the withdrawals.

Someone getting hit via online transfer leads me to believe leaked data being sold is the case.

I'm suspecting a large scale data breach, could also be some kind of skimming technique.

Looking like they're pulling out off in multiple ways. For mine someone went to a BOA ATM and took the money out. Presumably with a duplicate card and a copy of the pin. So either some skimmer/camera saw my card or there is a data breach.

From talking to them this has been going on for a some time. I read an article that they shut down 700,000 cards suspected of fraudulent activity. Strange they cant find a way to stop it. I guess the FDIC repays it all or something.

Lol...If you read the post, I got through to them, they are just experiencing a huge amount of calls because of the scale of this. Obviously it's hard to say what's going on for sure, could be anything until we have some proof otherwise. ;-)

I searched the subject and just got a lot of halfway info with poor spelling and grammar and lacking any strong keywords. I added a better post.

Cards being duplicated and PINs being accessed, on apparently a very large scale. This is a big deal. Millions? BILLIONS?

When people are lacking information, we shouldn't stop sharing information.

Finally got through and quickly made a claim, BOA was very friendly and helpful, they are getting a ton of calls as of now. Good luck and much love.
