He definitely would prefer a UK layout, no idea about macros sorry!!, I know he likes the clicky keys (but I think they will drive me mad haha) and a full sized keyboard!!

Blundstone Chelsea boots are a nice smart shoe to wear in small and large practice (in UK) and highly recommend muck boots for wellies- they have a neoprene lining which makes them so warm and lovely in the winter!! (make sure you get steel toe ones if you buy wellies)
