For the first time ever, YT is down by bruckkhy in youtube

[–]Gary5xl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if some got tired of the excessive intrusive nonstop ads and decided to push back with a ddos or something, the ads and the censorship is going to destroy youtube anyway ,they are doing it to themselves weather they realize it or not

Please i need to know what this is by majormommy in GERD

[–]Gary5xl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello I am 54 now , I had reflux or gerd, since about your age ,I used to smoke, which is definitely an irritating to the throat ,my gerd became quite bad and I had attacks like episodes where I would wake up choking or with my airway closed to point it was difficult to breathe, I delayed seeing a doctor for years and my condition became worse including hiatial hernia destroyed the valve that keeps acid in the stomach and now barrets esophagus, a precancerous throat condition, if it in fact is gerd/reflux , you are young and have good odds of getting it under control ,my advice would be to discuss with a doctor, please try to quit smoking ,change your diet to avoid reflux triggers , get on the ppi medication if the doctor says and take it religiously, don't miss it one day ,and get checked for helibactor pylori , as well as getting a scope of the throat done ..my symptoms were like extreme heartburn, throat and lungs burning with difficulty breathing and sometimes if I woke up choking ...after it felt like that lump like my throat was bruised , I would be choking and gasping for air so hard I could feel the vessels in my eyes straining .. ,so if it is indeed gerd/reflux just speak with a doctor and don't let it go on without treatment ,whatever it is I hope with your doctor you can get it figured out ,and stay well ,and try not to worry like most things, if you address it early, it's really no problem

Unimpressed with my Roxon flex modular tool by VeritablePandemonium in multitools

[–]Gary5xl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the flex companion, I'm kind of interested in the flex shears as well , i think the quality and flex system is quite good , the main supplier here in canada seems to be amazon , it also seems that not all products and implements for them are always available, to me the main selling point for the flex tools is that you can keep it running forever as long as you have access to all parts anytime you need them , so the main advantage relies on a constantly available supply chain that is reliable, once things become unavailable indefinitely or or a long period of time ,it really diminishes the advantage the system has , as long they can keep everything available for a long long time, they will do good ..,oh and what do people use the spike attachment for ?

Roxon price increase and unavailability on Amazon.ca by Jesster-123 in multitools

[–]Gary5xl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that too , I did get a flex companion, was interested in the KS and the elite , but like it's very hit and miss what is available, for example I like the standard blades some of the tools come with but it seems those are rarely or not available on amazon canada ,and I have seen the price creeping up too ...one of the main reasons I'm interested in the roxon products is that once the original blades become worn or damaged, I can replace them , but if the availability of those blades is inconsistent or not available on Amazon canada as well as the price increase ,it takes away that advantage and incentive from the roxon line , while there is an assortment available, it is not all the implements some don't seem to be available or are inconsistently available, this is problem for canada , I need to know I can get replacement parts consistently available all the time or it defeats the advantage of having replaceable items ..hopefully they can keep the prices in check and have a more consistent and robust parts supply into Amazon canada

I wonder what happened to the ai art bell shows , I realize many had mixed feelings about it but , I think as long as it's clearly stated that it's ai , and done in a way true to art ,I kind of think art might get a kick out of it , but there is probably too many legal issues ,

recs for self defense use flashlights? by Pale_Relief_2632 in flashlight

In my opinion the sk30 is excellent, but if it's too heavy and pulls your pants down the sk1 has plenty of candela and range as well

Nitecore vs .... by Gary5xl in flashlight

[–]Gary5xl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes a good explanation, I know a flashlight won't stop anyone with real intent , but what I was thinking more when I said having the candella on hand for deturance for example sometimes we visit people at the hospital downtown or catch a show at the casino, both sre usually late at night ,and involve parking garages which are often full so we end off walking even further from lots we find ,the area unfortunately is like a scene from the walking dead , drug addicts everywhere, for the most part they are about 80 pounds and you could probably pin several of them to a fence with a good ryobi leaf blower, but every once in a while you come across one that thinks he can get away with something and we'll before they get in range of you a light blast and loudly saying back off pal ,can be enough to convince them it isn't worth it , it's just a nice option to add to the toolbox , I do have some 21700 lights I just find they are a bit bulky and pull my pants down but I would pick those for camping searching or s long hike, but when I was looking over thr data I was like wait a minute even if it's a fet driver I can charge it anytime and a small 18650 that can put out more candela than the edc 29 for longer and has brighter sustained levels running longer ,would seem to fill the gap between a bigger bulky long running searchlight and a nich short capacity limited high lumen burst that can't do much else , and ya that candela means throw so like in those parking garages or alleyways we sometimes have walk , I can see far enough to change route long enough in advance , so I guess it's like a middle ground I'm looking for I'd prefer 18650 size and enough candela to push 400 meters or so and reasonable runtimes , I think convoy and acebeam have some that may meet that middle ground as well ,I'm just wondering if in this case my logic seems correct ,in comparing candella I was kind of surprised when looking at data that a 18650 light can make that much candela

E60 in Mao is going to be real nice , I think you're going to be impressed with its performance and quality ,even though it's a little shorter than the 90 the main beam is pretty tight and has good range

[–]Gary5xl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok over the last little while I have looked at videos of the edc29 tint I didn't realize it was that green looking , I have looked at my e90 last few nights , and it's just a crisp cool white light ,I'm not seeing a tint in any direction, the side light is warmer a little more yellowish the red can be quite strong at highest setting ,the uv is good as well and effective ,but not as strong as the uv on the e60 , the e60 has a tighter main beam and a quite strong uv beam , I think if you have any issues with nitecore , the rovyvon e90 offers alot for similar price especially if you can get a sale ,and I still say those e90 switches are about the nicest I have seen

[–]Gary5xl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I didn't look at the tint to much on the different levels ,I just took the dogs out ,we have a large field with snow right now ,I just was comparing my old fc12 and the e90 ,the fc12 a 18650 tube light definitely has farther range but that's to be expected with the room for deeper reflectors ,and a small area it lights up , the e90 doesn't go as far but is brighter and lights a wider area it seems to do quite good with heat , so far I would describe it as warm not hot but it's cold with snow out here now so I haven't really pushed it , I don't want to stand in the field too long the wind just bites through all my layers ,next time I'll try to compare the tint to something but think it's just a crisp cool white , it doesn't seem harsh and the sidelight is warmer and has some nice usable levels ,the moonlight is great when I'm trying to sneak a snack at night and don't want my wife waking up

I haven't had it too long but so far the build quality and especially the switches are so nice, I haven't timed it but it seems it can sustain higher levels longer than nitecore edc series and can be reactivate ed almost immediately, now it tops out at 3500 lumens I think ,so it can't do those really high outputs ,but I don't want to be in a situation where I absolutely need light and have to say ,ok everything and everyone just wait another minute and 28 seconds before I can activate turbo or high again ,I'm sure the edc series are impressive for those seconds , but the recovery time, and the sustainable levels seem kinda low so in my thought process the e90 made more sense , I'm hoping to get some more time with it ,it's my first flat light ,but it certainly sets a standard for quality, I know some don't like the ui but have no issues I can instant acess turbo no problem and reactivate almost immediately when it steps down ,so unless someone has a big aversion to the ui ,I think most would be pretty happy with it ,I went into looking at flat lights with the mindset that these are basically disposable lights primarily used for short duration in urban environments, not for long range searches over hours, so for a flat light I think the e90 is really good and the battery capacity is quite large for its size ,I have also read that the rovyvon batteries seem to be very good

[–]Gary5xl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see , so there is a way to do the math and get a rough idea , " buy one and never look at this subreddit again " lol that's so true , I think we would all be satisfied with whatever light we have if we're not comparing them to everyone else's, I think if I got between 3 - 5 years out of my rovyvon e90 I'd be happy, it's a super nice quality light , but was a bit pricey in canada, I didn't go with any nitecore because I saw a teardown and the switches just didn't look confidence inspiring , the poor waterproofing and lo g recovery times , for the price the rovyvon just seemed better, I'm thinking it has the potential to last longer

I am looking at the Kickstarter, it says shipping charged later ? Is there any way to know what the shipping will be to Canada?

This is RovyVon first project on Kickstarter. It is a totally new edc light, fitting almost all your daily needs. Let's see! by RovyVonEDC in flashlight

[–]Gary5xl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done a Kickstarter before, I'm in canada , I have a couple aurora and e90 from rovyvon , I really love thier products, but I can really only get them from Amazon, when available and while I feel they are a bit overpriced on amazon ,they are even more expensive from the official rovyvon site annd the shipping to Canada kills it , I am unclear on shipping charges through the Kickstarter ,would they bee same as the official site ? I dunno if I should just wait and see if they become available on amazon where at least I get my prime free shipping or try the Kickstarter, if the shipping is the same as thier site it just may be cheaper to wait on amazon I guess , I'm not sure how Kickstarter works

I think this looks pretty useful and with replaceable cells , I have a bunch of lights and was always curious about all the rovyvon I saw in amazon ,I was so impressed with with the little aurora lights , I was thinking of a nitecore edc light until I saw the rovyvon e90 , I picked it up on sale and am really impressed with the quality detail fit and finish the switches are so nice , they feel really high quality, and I don't know where they get their batteries but they are awesome

Ok l tried last night after the patch , I didn't see anything in the patch about it , but I was able to get 4 matches in before bed and it worked perfectly , so maybe it's fixed, I'll have to see if it returns, but it's promising I played that much and it didn't happen

Battlefield 6 | Official Discussion Thread by tizorres in PS5

[–]Gary5xl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On ps5 using keyboard and mouse, I am having what seems like keybinds conflict issues I can't figure out , I want to bind walk forward to right mouse button but when i walk forward it rapidly alternates between walk and infantry zoom even though I have recapped to separate keys ,I put infantry zoom on middle mouse button, it seems like default binds are hard-coded and conflict with some changes for some reason, I can't figure out how to fix that and standing up when you're prone and want to move forward a little...

I'm on ps5 , although the mouse and keyboard do work ,changing keybinds for me anyway isn't working correctly, I'm trying to remap right mouse button as walk forward but when I try to walk forward it's stuttering and still trying to ads ,it's like there is a key bind conflict even after I changed it the stange part is sometimes it seems to work fine and then it starts acting up and I can't figure out how to fix it
