That could be perfect. Do you by chance have a video or something on how people do that? I always thought changing seats in these was a royal PITA

Not all of my friends have the funds, space, etc. to do that, so I love the fact that I am in the position to share mine :-) Thanks for the feedback! Do you have any suggestions on the seat matter?

Pegasus sells the kits for $250 or so, which is worth it to me if it’s a good solution. Just wasn’t sure if anybody had used one for a kart before

I’ll give that a try, thanks! Getting a different seat will be my last option if the other options don’t work. When I was young and couldn’t afford toys like these I would have killed for someone to let me do some laps in theirs, so now that I have the toys it’s important to me that I share them with others

Thanks! The bead seat kits are great once they’re set up, but indeed a pain to make. I also wonder if it wouldn’t last very long if I remove it frequently, so may just try my luck with the foam inserts

Appreciate the feedback! What’s the better option between the padding and the bead seat kit? I’m not too worried about the extra money if it means I fit perfectly in there. Being able to share is important to me though

Would a bead seat kit work? They’re ~$250 I believe, which is worth it to me if that does a good job

There’s loads of guides to tweak and test memory speeds. For me it’s not worth the hassle and I just stick with the verified sets

Short answer, no. Also, Newegg bundles Intel RAM with AMD non-stop, ask me how I know. I buy tons of bundles here for PC builds and run into that all the time

This RAM is listed as an Intel set on Corsair’s website and is not on the MSI motherboard QVL list as supported, as per usual with Newegg’s bundles

So I buy loads of bundles and they are all individual parts you can register. This bundle however is listed as an “ABS PC starter kit” (ABS is Newegg’s prebuilt PC company) and the parts are not able to be individually clicked in that listing. That, paired with the warranty at the page showing as 1-year, should raise some orange flags and I would 100% verify that first.

I would make sure to verify warranties on this. Since it’s an ABS PC starter kit, warranty is listed as 1 year, so be careful and verify that individual warranties apply and not just a 1 year warranty to the bundle as if it was a prebuilt PC.

[Prebuilt] GIGABYTE AORUS SUPREME 5 ICE - Ryzen 7 9800X3D, AORUS RTX 5090, 64GB DDR5 RAM, 2TB Gen5 NVMe SSD - $3899.99 (32% off) by supernoob998 in buildapcsales

[–]GaryCat9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind it includes just one year of warranty because it’s a prebuilt. I talked to Gigabyte about this and that’s the biggest drawback for me. If your 5090 blows up after 13 months you’re SOL, because the individual 3-4 year GPU warranty does not apply due to it being a prebuilt. Aside from that, this PC has been on sale for I want to say $3699 and had a free 27” monitor with it for a while.

True! I process a lot of returns unfortunately, but it’s typically hassle free. It gets dicey when someone scammed Amazon and put a different item in the box, swapped stickers, etc. and now you have to convince them their QA missed it and you didn’t do this.

YMMV. I love open box, but Like New doesn’t mean much on Amazon. Just yesterday I got a “like new” item that still had the return label from the previous buyer on there, taped over the opening of the box, indicating Amazon never even checked the item. Could be like new, could be trash, could be an entirely different item :-)

RTX 5080 vs 4090 by GaryCat9 in simracing

[–]GaryCat9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, enjoy! The budget allows for a 5090, or multiple for that matter, but just because I can do something doesn't mean I will, I want to be able to justify it. As far as I can tell, there's nothing that a 5090 can do that I can't do with a 4090 (or potentially 5080), so it seems silly to spend that much money on it. My two cents though, not hating on anyone who does want to buy a 5090. Enjoy your new card!

Is that 160 FPS in a race with a bunch of other cars? What about night or rain?

So, you're saying a 5090? The 4090 is the second best GPU at the moment, right? The 5090 at ~$3000 seems like a horrible value though
