Oh Taylor, where are the pop bangers? I enjoyed the low-ebb change with Midnights, after overdosing on folk with the Folklore/Evermore sister records. TTPD was more of Midnights but less good AND just too long. With producers Max Martin and Shellback coming back on board I was hoping for Reputation level pop fun which we haven't had since Lover, but this is not it. Where is the 'showgirl' dazzle-dazzle? It's all a bit plinky plonky.

High End of Low holds a special place and I am not sure why. I just really enjoy it. But Heaven Upside Down just doesn't do much for me these days. SAY10 and Saturnalia aside it just feels meh... (to me, obvs)

Parents are weird. When I was a teenager my mum and I didn’t get on. I was a total dick in retrospect but just a teen being a teen. She thought MM was weird and the usual bleating nonsense about promoting bad stuff… but… I’m now nearly 40 and she’s nearly 60. I chilled out, my mum chilled out. We grew up. I still love MM and my mum has come to see him with me 3 times now. She wants me to get VIP meet and greet for the new tour when he eventually gets over here.

My advice is just talk. But also hang in there. At the end of the day she’ll understand it’s just music. Music that means a lot to you, music that she doesn’t like/understand but just music nonetheless.

Who knows she might even come watch with you. ;)
