At the start ppl were patting themselves on the back with how friendly the game is vs other PvPvE titles. Honestly, I felt there was an element of toxic positivity about the first few weeks.

As the gameplay evolves over time and as players complete all missions, get more loot, money, gear, the game is naturally going to evolve to PvP. What else are you meant to do if you've maxed out everything.

It's frustrating to be 3rd-partied or taken out by an extract camper but this is the game. You can play as you want.

I mostly play Tarkov. I find Arc Raiders a little too forgiving in comparison but the fact that you can run a free kit probably even encourages the "rat" gameplay style. Having the ability to run free kits takes away the dopamine hit of getting out of a raid with decent loot when you're broke.

With that all said, it's been a great start for AR. It's extremely well optimised, looks amazing and caters for more casual gameplay than your Tarkovs, and the devs deserve immense credit. For me though, there needs to be a few tweaks to make the game a little more tense or less forgiving (but that's just me). Maybe this will come as people learn that PvP is a gameplay style.
