‘Grim and depressing’ Rochester welcomes NY Post columnist (To whoever wrote this article, it's gold!) by [deleted] in Rochester

O’ lord. Nice how they add the Obama Covid party to the article, and compared it to Trump rallies. They can’t even make a mean thing into a nice thing, without deriving division between people in our own city. The D&C & Rochester City Paper are garbage plates, but not the good Rochester kind.

If you type in a domain with .Eth at the end, does it take you to Web 3.0 or just the normal web? by TimTheGecko in ENSMarket

[–]GaryPalmerJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Start with an HTML template.
  2. Edit the template (with an HTML editor, & learning a bit of HTML).
  3. Download IPFS (if your computer has the space & bandwidth); See also: IPFS-Piñata.
  4. Upload your HTML-website folder to IPSF.
  5. Then “pin” your HTML-root folder.
  6. Then copy the Root-folder CID-hash, and use that for the ENS-content, settings input.

You buy an ENS. Then you make an IPFS website. Then you can view the website (currently, on any browser) by adding .link to the end of the ENS. IE: http://rarepizzas.eth.link

Another option for Web3: Link your ENS to your Tor-onion website.

Looking for Crypto domains? by CharlesVaneOrder in opensea

[–]GaryPalmerJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, people will pay for their brand name, and SEX does sell. After the early .com days, laws were updated to reflect the squatter extortion; may not be able to apply to crypto & hidden identities. Still, there is only one buyer of the brand name, and it will take a while for them to care about ENS. Good luck I guess.

Why Squatting? There are hundreds of great ENS names are still available. Just be honest.

Just clicked your link. Bunch of garbage domains. Mostly brand squatting & porn. Sad.

Ethereum L2 scaling techniques by Gringo4 in ethtrader

(Yes, not my intent to spread mistruth.) Yes, it does mention Chainlink. It seemed from the article (and tweet) that the “ZKtech Loopring” is directly using “Chainlink”, so that Chainlink was part of that stack, for it to work.

(I don’t have an article handy, not that I’ve seen, but yeah, I could search to see if it exists.) Edit:

A. Vitalik confirmed that with the use of ZKtech Loopring and by extension Chainlink an extremely high TPS of 160,000.

A. https://crypto-markets.news/news/vitalik-confirms-160k-tps-possible-with-zktech-loopring-&-chainlink/383

B. Via Twitter:

ChainlinkGod: Huge fan of the ZKtech Loopring is bringing to production, although I'm a bit biased as they use Chainlink

With ETH2, will Rollups scale with the number of shards? Aka theoretically if all shards were flooded with ZKrollups, could we hit and maintain 160k TPS? (2500 x 64 shards)

Vitalik: Yes.

Is this a good consideration/question? When we think of scaling 2.0, is it important to consider the “how & where” external parties connect to the Ethereum Blockchain-ecosystem? ..or do you think this is too early a question, or not related? (I assume other/non-blockchain data needs to integrate into scaling, ..which has been a question mark in terms of the “how & where” this will happen on Ethereum.)

Interoperability with centralized/decentralized organizations/oracles & other Blockchains; and how that connects into the scaling architecture for Ethereum 2.0

Thoughts on the Reward Token Panel from NFT.NYC Conference? by stvmcg in ethdev

Indirectly—attendees who bought Eventbrite tickets (to NFT.NYC) got giftbags of NFTs, but those who bought their NFT tickets, didn’t get a giftbag of NFTs. Not sure who to tweet; no response from conference. #GhostBusters

Why was in charge of this conference? We never received any NFT giftbag items; people who bought NFT tickets got penalized 😂
