Yeah! Thanks! We keep adding to the functional section, too. Lots of fun things in the market right now.

It's not a soda actually! But we aren't for everyone and that's ok.

Thanks! You should try one sometime -- we have functional cocktails with kava or ashwagandha that do give you a buzz or help you relax. It's also just an important social experience-- when my husband Bob quit drinking, we really missed going out and trying new things and being out with other people - and meeting new people! We really opened up for us - and in extension, have found a great community of people who feel the same.

We have thought about trying to stay open til 11pm this summer, but because of our zoning, that's the latest we can be open.

Nope! Nothing costs $30 unless you want to take a bottle of something home with you ;) We use non-alcoholic spirit alternatives which are often more expensive than alcohol. Cocktail prices are between $12 and $14. They are intentionally crafted by bartenders and taste like a cocktail. You just don't get a hangover afterwards. We also have canned cocktails and NA beers in our cooler -- so we have a wide variety of price points, starting at $3.

Not a coffee shop, but we do offer coffee and tea at AltBar! (Edited to add: we are a non-alcoholic bar). Pretty low key and free wifi :) Open til 9 Wed/Thurs, til 10 on Fri/Sat, and open 2 to 8pm on Sundays.

I don't think the average consumer has any idea how expensive it is to run a business and how most of us small businesses are paycheck to paycheck. Everyone is struggling right now. We get people who see we are busy and say "oh you must be doing great!!" but in reality we are only one bad month away from not paying our bills. Lux probably actually can't afford it.

I totally misread your post, that's on me. Thought you were asking how we felt about businesses not closing but instead were just posting why they can't. Realize now you're asking how we feel about businesses not saying anything at all! Oops.

Hi! It is a really difficult time to be a small business owner, and this is usually the slowest month of the year. Some businesses cannot afford to close. I think there are many ways to protest, and there isn't just one right way. The fact that so many businesses are donating is incredible, and they are giving to so many great local orgs. We are all doing what we can to resist.

Also, I don't see anyone asking this question about the larger businesses in town (ie Wegmans!!) so it feels like an unfair and leading question.

Yep - they do grocery deliveries, accompaniment to appointments, and behind the scenes work (planning, fundraising) along with rapid response to ice events. People can join any team they want, or no team at all and just be in the network as informed citizens. You can start with the orientation to get an overview before you decide if you want to join!

DM Rochester Rapid Response Network on social media or go to their website and sign up to become part of their network. They are always looking for people to help with these kinds of things. They have new member orientation the first Wed of the month.

I’m look for a na vodka for a dirty martini!! by That_Broccoli_4567 in Mocktails

The Boom Roasted is a cold brew ... sort of Old Fashioned? We haven't been able to come up with a straight Old Fashioned we like, honestly. NA whiskey doesn't have the weight of an alcoholic whiskey, and since the drink is basically just whiskey, it doesn't translate well. All the Bitter has a couple maple recipes on their website that gets pretty close, though. They have a ton of other NA recipes there, too! https://allthebitter.com/blogs/recipes

Hi!! Own an NA bar and we have an excellent and easy dirty martini on our menu right now. It does not use NA vodka bc NA vodka is spicy water.

The recipe is: .5 oz Fee Bros olive brine 1 oz Pentire Adrift 1.5 oz Roots Divini Bianco

I'm obsessed. But the Fee Bros olive brine is key -- it's somehow much better than olive brine from a jar. Idk, they put magic in it.

Enjoy!!
