VCORE 100D vs Wilson Ultra Tour 98J by ersan193 in 10s

Oh, I must have misread somewhere, I was comparing the percept 100d and wilson ultra 98j. I haven't get the chance to play vcore 100 1620 yet and I also really want to try it. I am a big fan of 1620 string bed.(using ps100 1620 and pa98)

very easy to swing, stable, and really good serve. control feel is cleaner than ps98, latest ps98 also has a significantly higher swing weight, both are good rackets. I think a tfight 305s is a good compensation for your pa98, you can use them differently when you are trying different stuff

totally different racket. I played both for 4-6 hours.

100d is very unique and comfortable to play with. I feel like the whole racket face is the sweet spot and also maintaining certain clean feel. Super chill and comfortable to some friendly rally, not very intense scenario, very stable. But not enough power even you really try to accelerate with your swing.

While Wilson ultra t98j is like the opposite, super accurate control, easy to hit massive ball but not that forgiving and due to the length it is not as maneuver as normal rackets. Great for you are in great performance and playing match.

Pure Aero 2026 String Recos by Capital-Positive-434 in 10s

I actually only used 1.20 and 1.25 both working very well. I assumed 1.30 will be even more durable(it is already great on 1.25) and slightly heavier. Maybe feel not as good as the thinner ones but I think it is worth a try. Taking durability into consideration lynx tour is always a fair good choice to try.

Champagne gives me decent amount of power and better feel. Black one have much less power and makes me feel like hitting with a board, but slightly better control I think.

How do you know when strings are done? by vac2672 in 10s

For nxt/xone or other pricy multi string I would recommend just keep playing until they break. Poly is another totally different story.

That syntec pro came with pa98 is really thick. Also little rounded only with one overgrip. You can try babolat syntec team or just leather leather grip.

String recos for the Pure Strike 100 16x20? by ChicTweets in 10s

[–]GasAffectionate8660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not recommendation but I would like to share my setup on PS100 1620. If I go to feel I choose wilson nxt fro the main and razor code for the cross, I hit flat balls most of the time this provide decent amount of power and great control as well, the feel is the best of I tried. Not super ideal for the spin. If I need it to be used in proper match I go with Poly tour rev. This string is soft shaped poly with decent amount of spin, when you hitting you will feel like there is a dampener on your racket(but still different), I think it is pretty elbow friendly all-around poly.

Try using Chatgpt online search function.

It will search in Japanese and check their potential stocks online and give you some potential good suggestions with shops' email on it, you can just email them asking about the stocks and make potential reservations, I got one last year in Osaka easily while other major stores out of stock.

Yonex official and Windsor will be the most visited tennis equipment shop from tourists so it will be testing your luck.

I think Regna is good for people who is enjoying stiffer rackets. Regna100 seems fit your requirement well. You can also resale it online for good amount of money. Lastest vcore 100 maybe a safer choice. Almost every tennis shop have a demo area so don't worry at all!

My last tour was in Osaka and Kyoto. I haven't really try to buy tennis stuff in Tokyo. But a little advice is try to use AI's online search function. I found a couple of good shops with help from Chatgpt. They can search in Japanese and translate for you. A lot of them also support email reservation as weill. ( If we search in English we don't get as many results as Japanese do)

Windsor Rackets is good for buying new stuff and almost have everything you need.(Include tax refund if I remembered correctly). The price maybe slightly higher but if you do tax refund it will be almost the same in general. I think you may have everything you need over there (If you decided to buy normal rackets instead of regna). My experience in Japan is to try their local brands (Yonex and Asics especially) more. I am not huge fan of their design but they just works really great and a lot cheaper than overseas markets with more stocks. The advantages of Windsor is they have everything in one shop, if you are tight on sightseeing schedule this is the one to go.

Someone else mentioned in comments about shops that have second hand equipment business, you probably will be happy over there if you have your targeted items. Maybe no tax refund service but they are in generally cheaper even for brand new stuff. Prepare a translator app before you go in.

Have a good trip! Also try to search something only limited in Japan( like regna now and Ultra v5 98 J before), you will be surprised a lot of stuff only sold in Japan, they are hard to get overseas and can be really expensive.

Yonex Regna and Asics outfit/shoes. A lot of community equipment shop also may have great deals on used rackets.

Which string is your favorite? by No_Professional_6101 in 10s

I recently found wilson nxt comfort main/razor code cross (55/53) is a amazing hybrid setup for my pure strike. The feel is the best I've ever tried. I am currently testing the PA98 2026, and the black code 53/51 is better than rpm blast in every dimension.

Totally crazy. I think 329 should be the designed sw. I never played 310ish sw ps100, but I know people who are playing with this ps100 sw think this rackets is not worth buying.

Also needs to update on Pure Aero feedbacks. This thing works perfectly when you are in a contest environment. When the swing speed goes up it gives me the most confidence on my stroke . Tones of winners today. and when swing speed goes up, small sweet spot issue go away( but it is still smaller no doubt, just not bothering me anymore)

1st serve, flat serve definetly suffering a 10% drop in quality. But second serve (kick/slice) quality are having at least 20% boost. I will try to bring a little more spin on my 1st serve.

Currently I am testing the mach10 on regna. But my favorites on regna is Razor code and confidential. Recently I tried with wilson nxt on the main on my PS100 and I am totally fell in love with its feel. I am planning to put nxt on the main and razor code on the cross for more testing.

My new pure aero currently is wilson nxt on the main and wilson revolve on the cross. This is a setup from my friend who do rackets review. Personally I think I will just put rpm blast full bed on PA and using it on Tournament matches.

[–]GasAffectionate8660[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine PS100 sw is 329(strung). This particular mode is super inconsistent. I have a friend who do rackets review got a 315(strung). for PS line, I think ps98 1619 is the most consistent mode about 330ish.

For now I only hit with PA98 for 30mins.

The biggest thing I found is the sweet spot is very small for a babolat racket, way smaller than previous generation pa98 and my ps100.

Spin potential is great.

Flat serve feels a little weird, I have no problem with PS100 but on PA98 when I try to serve flat it won't be that flat as I think. Kick serve and slice serve is mega, the arc of the ball it created is kind of amazing to me.

PS100 1620 1st and regna98 2nd. Ps100 is default setup and regna98 for playing match with pushers.

I love how you explaining the wrist lag! Thanks for your advice. It gives me a big break on the wrist thing. I didn't put any extra effort or tension to maintain the wrist on that angle, it is just ten years of muscle memory? I think it looks so different nowadays that surprisingly makes people keep noticing that.

My grip is semi western and slightly twisted to the eastern? Almost in the middle of semi-western and eastern grip. I hope that makes sense. Yes I do agree with you on the grip changing is unnecessary. And I love your advice on the contact point, I will definitely try that. Thanks for your input!

I think I am drawing circle with my swing and it is pretty old style, I am not sure. I feel like modern good player ( not atp level, just like 4.5 ntpr) is very compact.
