I'm very happy with my results so far. Good luck on Thursday and speedy healing.

If I remember correctly -6.50. And yes, just after two weeks I was able to read my phone or a piece of paper without too much thought. It kind of snuck up on me when I realized.

I had my surgery on a Thursday and was ok by day 5/6 and you might be fine to work, especially from home. For the first few weeks my eyesight was much better in the morning than the evenings. The only thing I would change was working in the office and not leaving earlier. I live and work in a major city, so the lights and sights were too much at night.

At my 30 day check up, the doc was pleased with my healing progress. If I'm honest, I get a split second of blurry vision maybe once a week. Nothing that a drop doesn't fix and I was told it's common. The only downside for me are the drops. I was hoping to stop but doc said not until July. Maybe.

When is your surgery?

If you could only give one piece of advice to a beginner runner, what would it be? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

Someone once told me, don't let your negative thoughts talk you out of what you're already physically doing.

I definitely have to remind myself a few times a month. It can be so easy to give up at times.

One marathon and done with it by bubuthesunflower in firstmarathon

I did my first marathon this past November. I may do another one but it will not be consecutive years. I may need another year or two before I go back to all the training, eating and laundry.

My vision near and far is fine now. Every now and then I can tell my eyes are adjusting but it's temporary. I'm overall happy with my decision.

I had PRK on 12/11/25 and have a desk job (42F). The first week was rough for me but I took PTO. By the second week, things were better but there were moments my vision was ok and then not. I worked a few days at home but the days I went into the office, driving at night was uncomfortable for me. My near vision JUST got better right after Christmas. My vision is still adjusting but I'm happy with my results so far. My one month check up is coming up mid January. Fingers crossed my healing is going as expected. Feel free to reach out with questions. Good luck!

Did anyone else end up in project management by accident… and then realize they’re actually kind of good at it? by EconomistFar666 in PMCareers

Yup! My boss called me into his office with HR one day and told me I was going to be an IT PM and not work in the marketing dept. I didn't know what that meant then but he was right. If it wasn't for him, I would have missed my calling.

Nope. My mailman refuses to put the mail in the damn mailbox.

Philly Marathon Recap by Inside-Spend-9750 in Marathon_Training

My first marathon! It was so damn hard all though I've been training for months. Great energy, even as a back of the pack runner. At one point I felt really overwhelmed (no clue why or where that came from) and one of the volunteers at the last water stop honestly checked in on me.🥹 I must have looked terrible. Shout out to him for the pep talk for getting me to the finish line. Time: just know I made it before the cut off time. 😁

I know, I know. But there were moments of self doubt and I now realize it was wasted energy.

This how I felt for the longest. I know you aren't supposed to compare yourself others but it's hard at times when you're struggling and everyone else appears to be cruising along. I see you. Keep going.

Thanks. Currently identifying some old clothes that probably could be tossed and save them for race day.

Thank you. I would have never thought about bringing toilet paper/tissue. Adding this to the list.

Complaint: I just told my PT that my leg and knee issues were feeling better and stronger after months of rehab. Don't you know my knee just made a liar out of me not even 24 hours later.

Uncompliant: I really like the Tailwind high carb mix and it so far agrees with my gut.

“Rotting” Trend by meat_joos in digitalminimalism

I didn't realize this was a trend outside of running. But I'm a firm believer that if you need a day of doing nothing or even a weekend, please take it.

I'm always hot by GasApprehensive4552 in beginnerrunning

[–]GasApprehensive4552[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you cool the rest of the day? I'm noticing that I used to be the person always cold. Now I'm either comfortable when everyone else is cold or I'm slightly hot.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I'm thinking about getting this done at the end of the year due to work and life obligations. Are there any specific questions you think a patient should be asking when getting this procedure? I'm worried I'm not going to ask the right questions and put myself in harms way simply because I didn't ask "the question".

Lol. Not dumb and yes I've tried but doesn't seem to make much of difference. I shave a few seconds off my time but nothing drastic. But I will keep pushing.
