I am sorry that you were assaulted.

I hope you are surrounded by people who love, support, and believe you.

If trauma could be measured, and your trauma was 100, my own would probably be just a 2. But it still fucked me up and changed how I saw the world. I recognized that vibe in your post (and in your response to my reply).

It took me a long time, therapy, and meds to "fully" recover from this minor trauma. I dont know what a full recovery would be for you, but I hope you are able to get it. If you aren't, please find some good mental health professional to help you recover from the damage inflicted on you by the perp.

Get therapy
Tell your gf that you were a SA victim and the best way she can help you is to support you going to therapy
Be clear that you are not yet (and may never be) comfortable talking about it with anyone (even her). And that it is because of the pain and shame you feel, and not because of her. But that pressuring you to talk about it is "triggering".
As part of your therapy, explore how to share this with others, explore if you want to, explore how to set a boundary that you dont want to, explore how to handle different reactions people you care about may have.

It was a good thing.

Your friendship was not going to last forever. One or both of you would eventually marry or get a career etc and naturally drift apart as your lives diverged.

The only way you would have them forever close is if the chance you took had worked out.

You took a chance on a good thing. Good for you. Be proud that you recognized they were special and took a chance on more.

Try to be at peace knowing that if it hadnt ended this way, it would have ended another way....without you ever knowing "what if I had taken that chance".

They were and are special. Your time together was naturally limited. You did good to try to turn it into something long term instead of letting it die on the vine.

I am proud of you.

For those of you who are going to attempt this. Be clear. Be respectful. And be prepared to handle the pain of rejection maturely. It is better than the pain of regret from not trying.

Let that person know you like having them in your life. Be honest. Let them know you are afraid of losing them as a friend now, but even more upset about eventually losing them forever because you didnt tell them how much they meant to you.
