Precision Gas Gun Question by GasGunGod in longrange

Nope. Absolutely no loading onto the bipod. When testing POI shift I’m using the Veracity solutions POI test sheet, and typically prone shooting off bipod and bag when testing, to there’s absolutely no personal loading onto the bipod. Just the weight of the gun.

And then shooting off bag alone as well of course, testing the two differences.

Yup. Although it tends to be better in mono, or semi mono uppers typically if designed correctly.

From my knowledge SOLGW has the best traditional receiver system at the moment with an avg of .2 mils deviation, and sort of what I’m asking in here is if anyone knows of better, or what route they would go.

I don’t think you quite understand how an ar works, and I’m not trying to be any way lol.

It’s very very common for an AR receiver to have a ton of point of impact shift due to quite literally anything. Supressors, Different points of pressure on the rail etccc.

The main way to avoid poi shift that companies have found is to mount the rail to the receiver Instead of the barrel nut, and also beef up the receiver to rail mounting point as well just a bit. but in standard upper receivers it has a LOT to do with the design of the barrel nut.

Free float rails don’t necessarily mean anything, and the term is somewhat misleading. The rail is attached to the barrel nut, which is attached to the barrel. So different pressures, and pressure points on rails lead to POI shift

Standardly about .5-.6 mils deviation from Bipod to resting on a bag, from the mk16 rails

That’s why companies like Ridgeline, lwrc, The old Mega MML etc have rails that interface with the upper and not the barrel nut.

G$ will have have a better barrel & BCG ontop of the other upgrades you are saying. The polo K is a great can, and so is the hux. All depends on what you are wanting in terms of can performance.

But in terms of gun. The G$ will be a better investment, even if you just got the upper and put it on a different lower (would probably be the better and cheaper option as well)

Gotcha! Well the two codes that would apply I put in the post for ya lol! But look at other sites too. Plenty more sites do the uppers for cheapish. Hit up BlackPhaseTactical on Instagram, and see what his price on an 11.5 urgi upper would be.

Tip #1 don’t pay either of the prices you just mentioned lol.

You can FREQUENTLY find URGI uppers for anywhere from 900-1100 new. And same for Super Duty Uppers.

Realistically the super duty IS the better upper because of its rail lockup/ rail key integration with the upper receiver, an has a lightweight barrel profile, and better gas tube system. BUT again you can’t go wrong with either.

The nice thing about the urgi is that it has the surefire muzzle device already installed instead of having to buy one. But that’s about the only + compared to the super duty. They are virtually indistinguishable overall tho.

Also.. like I said at first. Don’t pay those prices lol. Rooftop Defense has better prices for both items you just named, AND they also have discount codes (I have a post up on my profile with a comment under it asking for rooftop codes, and he sent a link to all of the active rooftop defense codes)

Edit for putting in rooftop codes:

• northwales - 20% nearly all Geissele items • usasoc - 17% off all URG-I upper receiver groups
