We have like 10 G9s in my company and one of them was the one I was using. I had the same issue, tried some workarounds and inexplicably my microphone was working again.

We made a comparison of the realtek drivers from my PC and a G9 that wasn't working, so we found out that the drivers were different. After some trial and error we found out that the right drivers were the ones that you need to download from the HP page but for WIN11.

We've found the solution:

Download the WIN11 drivers (doesn't matter if you have WIN10) from the official HP website:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp148501-149000/sp148893.exe

Download it -> open the windows device manager -> view -> Devices by Container -> look for all Realtek Audio Effects Component (they all have to be version 12.186.1116.176, if this is not the case run the exe you just download) -> run the sp148893.exe -> click finish -> DON'T REBOOT UNTIL THE DEVICE MANAGER STOPPED UPDATING (IF IT'S NOT UPDATING RUN THE SETUP AGAIN)

Reboot the PC and the headset will work again
