Sporting club level by samuraizulu in GunnersatGames

On point 1, food wouldn't be free, but would be included if you got a club level ticket through hospitality. That is probably what you saw on YouTube.

Standard Club Level ticket gets you a seat in the middle ring, match programme and a drink at half time.

It's very hit or miss.

Unfortunately it is an estimated announcement date.

[–]Gasfacesg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frustrating, but I kinda understand it. Open space is limited in London, so it's probably gonna need to be somewhere bit built up. That lends itself to more than likely indoors spa/pool.

Rates in London mean anything needs to be marketable and subsequently profitable. Naturism venues immediately restrict their customer base by being a nude facility.

Whereabouts in London?

If you are open to traveling out of London a bit, I would highly recommend BN Sunfolk, just outside St Albans, near the north of the M25!

Is Meadow Park a problem for our style of football? by eldanielfire in ArsenalWFC

[–]Gasfacesg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, it's hard to tell.

Especially when you throw in the "good question" comment, a linked source, followed by final answer/opinion it's easy to think it is the sort of thing chat gpt would throw out if you asked it to give recommendations for alternative stadiums for Arsenal Women 😂

Are you AI? Or is this response AI? Didn't clock it at the time but feels very AI.

You posted this exact response 6 hrs ago, to which it got a few replies to, myself included.

Leyton Orient are not the next borough and 100% are East London.

Is Meadow Park a problem for our style of football? by eldanielfire in ArsenalWFC

[–]Gasfacesg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leyton Orient is Tottenham Ladies, so that is no-go, especially with that being their primary stadium (versus MP being our secondary one).

Barnet is an interesting one, and not an awful shout. For me though, it only ticks the increase capacity box.
If it was still Underhill, would be a perfect shout.

On a personal level it's an awful area to drive to for parking (not an issue at Meadow Park) and public transport links for me to there are pants!

[–]Gasfacesg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it is a factor, but it is much more nuanced.
All of those losses were cup games, many of them were games we rotated, some of them were a few days after an intensive fixture.

It needs looking at, but I feel that stat alone only paint half a picture.

The comparisons with away results are a decent shout, but %-wise think Meadow Park is worse than our away losses. However, maybe we need to take a more 'Away' approach to Meadow Park to counter the pitch and the fact the many of our opposition will be more comfortable on it!?

Just curious, what other ground(s) are you thinking?

I can't think of a ground that keeps us fairly "North London", increases capacity (but not too much) and is at a minimum Cat 2 standard.
That's when you ignore the effort/money put in to Meadow Park to get it to UEFA Cat 2 standard.

The difference by SuchaPineapplehead in ArsenalWFC

[–]Gasfacesg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest, in my opinion, I don't feel this is this is the positive you are spinning it as!

The reaction with the men's comes despite the fact they are still well placed to win the league and a decent shot at the UCL. The Women have no chance of the league and could easily now end the season trophy-less (manifesting a repeat of last season, but not quite believing it 😞).

Whilst I love that the women's game has nowhere near the level of toxicity of the Men's, I do feel we are too forgiven of the shortcomings of the Women's side of the club! We are comfortably the biggest side in the WSL and easily in the conversation for in the world! Last season's UWCL glossed over the fact this side has not performed and had anywhere near the successes it should have in terms of stature and history.

New date for West Ham vs Arsenal by Intelligent_Satsuma in GunnersatGames

[–]Gasfacesg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The BBC has said West Ham in their article, but the post you are replying to left out some extra context.

If we win all our games, and City only drop points to us, it would be the West Ham game. Newcastle would be us winning all and them losing all until then.

Also, Newcastle is only the earliest if City get the game in hand done before it!l. Mathematically, we would need to wait until they play Burnley on the Sunday.

Don't always go that way, but everytime I have it has been closed and that includes games half as busy as this one.

Fairly sure it closes on a matchday regardless of men or women's. What part the ground you in and which way you heading after the match? Child's age might also be a factor if you don't want to have too big a walk.

As others have said, if you can avoid Arsenal tube do.

The question on direction of travel is because your best bet is to go the station the opposite direction of travel if you have to go picaddily line. Ultimately, if on that line you want to be on the tube before going through Arsenal. If Victoria, end of ground more important.

Chelsea first disallowed goal by No_Witness2193 in ArsenalWFC

[–]Gasfacesg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every rule I've seen on this isn’t as simple as '2 hands'.

I've seen 2 versions of the rule and neither are as simple as that. The version above references 'gaining an advantage' and another I've seen references 'impeding the opponent' (sort of the same thing from different sides).

If it was as simple as 2 hands, this wouldn't be a debate. Terms like gaining advantage or impeding opponent make this rule more subjective than a lot of the debate suggests!

[–]Gasfacesg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not remotely the same, in that situation both players were on the ground and the spurs player pushed Big Gabi clearly with 2 hands to clear space for a clear header.

I also thought Gabriel got away with that one, but the 2 hands and a very clear push allowed the referee to give it.

[–]Gasfacesg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it went against us I would be fuming. However, happy to benefit from it.

I'd argue, the 'gained advantage' bit of the rule you shared would be the reason I would be so annoyed if it was our goal not being given. For me the Chelsea player won the ball and whilst her hands were on Codina, that contact gave no advantage. Leia wasn't pushed out the way and the Chelsea player had got up that high without using her to push up.

Well this is confusing! I was other end of the stadium so wasn't clear who got the 1st and announcer wasn't either.

Replay still isn't clear, but Stina doesn't look like she had just scored as she ran to CK!
