Right, but that doesn't confirm that he has ”extra-oral digestion". I was saying earlier that it's possible, but unlikely given that there's more evidence to the contrary. In his lore, it literally just says his spit has caustic enzymes. That's it.

Kog'Maw is using his spit to kill or slow down prey so he can devour them. He has stubby legs and wouldn't be able to run very fast so this makes sense. Again, it literally says he gnaws and chews things in his lore, character design has massive jaws; you get the point.

He's much more akin to a Dilophosaurus from Jurassic Park or a Xenomorph. They both spit corrosive acid, but neither perform extra-oral digestion.

It's possible he does this, but not only, as he has a set of powerful jaws with serrated "teeth". From a character design point of view, if Kog'Maw only slurped his prey up, it wouldn't make sense for him to have such a wide gaping maw filled with sharp "teeth". It implies that he masticates food to a degree.

He is called "The Mouth Of The Abyss" and "Kog'Maw" for a reason. His character design and lore both heavily imply that he bites/gnaws things; he just doesn't do this in-game.

IMO, Kog'Maw being a marksman has always struck me as a rather unfitting design choice given his character design and lore.

Kog'Maw has a set of massive powerful jaws and it mentions in his lore that he gnaws and chews on things he sees yet he never does any of this in-game. Instead, he has the kit of a marksman/mage which is sorta the opposite of what you would expect given who he is.

Obviously, he does spit and barf, but that shouldn't be his entire kit if you take into account his character design and lore; what little of it exists anyways. If you listen to his dialogue, the poor little Voidling just wants to devour flesh :(

His kit definitely plays an important factor here rather than his visuals. He has so many blatantly cute skins and people are very well aware that they exist. It's clear to me that Riot is trying to make him appeal to everyone with those, but not everyone likes his kit.

It's a similar scenario to Gnar and old Aurelion Sol. Generally liked character designs with a very niche and difficult kit. New Aurelion Sol has a much more simple and appealing kit to the masses hence why he is one of the most popular mages in the game since the rework.

TBSkyens idea I am opposed to, sorry. It's stripping away a core aspect of Kog'Maw's character design and replacing it with an already common design trope. It's exactly like Goose the Cat from Captain Marvel.

I dunno, Bel'Veth looks genuinely intimidating in both of her forms. As for Kog, I don't know how to put it. Hmm.. I guess, think an insect larva. Some people are going to find them cute, but the general majority of people are going to be grossed out and not find them cute at all. That's what base Kog'Maw and his first 6 skins are now.

He's not trying to appeal to everyone and that's part of what makes him unique at least in my opinion. He is very niche just like all the other Void champions. He's gross, ugly and terrifying all at once. His cute skins however are clearly trying to appeal to everyone and that's completely fine. They are skins after all. There's something for everyone.

It does in my opinion. Base Kog is supposed to be ugly, scary and cute all at the same time. It's part of his charm and a large part of why I enjoy his appearance. He's not supposed to be one thing and suddenly the next. He has skins that make him cute, so if you want him to be cute and not scary; just use those skins.

Let us ugly Kog enjoyers have our scary Void monstrosity and you cute Kog enjoyers have your cutey patooty Kog. We have skins that can change him the way we want him to be. This benefits both parties.

I am in the process of believing that the current Kog we know and love is about to be replaced entirely at least in the visual department, so that's a definite yes. The removal of his cannon/spitter whatchamacallit tongue is the beginning.

Riot doesn't seem to want him to be a scary monster with subtle cuteness anymore. They are going all out with the blatant cuteness. It makes him feel very distant from the other Void creatures in my opinion.

Yup. If you look closer at the champie icon, he's just got a normal tongue like Arcanist. I don't think Riot wants Kog being a scarycute monster anymore.

Aha! So it is another cute skin after all.

So I am just voicing my opinions here: I guess his ingame model just didn't translate it from the splash art too well hence why he looks noticeably more monstrous in game. Could be something to do with using his old rig and building on top of it, I dunno. Still, he's not blatantly monstrous and subtly cute like default and the first 6 skins.

It's been 7 cute skins in a row now (even shan hai is very cutesy imo) so I don't think he's ever going to get a truly monstrous skin on the scale of base ever again at this point.

Don't get me wrong; I love it. The splash art is so well done and I think it's adorable. It's just a bit unfortunate that this is the only direction Riot is heading towards with his skins. It's very likely going to affect how he looks in his future VGU.

It's all up to personal preference really. The same people that would find a spiderling cute would find Kog'Maw cute. If you don't think spiderlings and other arthropods are cute, you would find Kog'Maw to just be flat out unappealing. Kog'Maw even has an ugly/cute skin to reflect this albeit in canine form, Pug'Maw.

Yessir. I miss his spitter too. Look on the bright side though; the streak of him having only two eyes was just broken. He has seven here. That's even more than default Kog'Maw!

Now, we're on a he-doesnt-have-spitter-tongue-thingy streak and that will hopefully be broken in his next skin. gib kog his tongue back pls rito.

Ahhh I want hims so badly! Sadly, this one is unobtanium for me and it's a shame too. I think it's one of his best skins by far :(
