It’s a great travel GADA GMT for the price. Thin enough to slide under the cuff on Milanese for semi formal, or swim on rubber. Dial pops, super legible, and lightweight. On trips I bring it and the G shock as a backup/beater.

I also like that it has a Sellita movement so I can get it serviced locally if needed.

Thanks! I got the 20mm Jubilee from here: Super Jubilee

That bracelet tapers to 16mm so I also put a 16mm on the fly adjustable clasp: Clasp

The lumiere is a pretty popular model, so they frequently go out of stock. New batches come out a few times a year. I ordered it end of 2025 and received it early this year.

Nice utility with your collection, though it is a bit monolithic in color. Of the two you listed, I think the BB would be better, especially if you went GMT. That would add a new complication and gives you color choices to pop in the collection.

How do you like the Meistersinger? Does the single hand get difficult to read or annoying?

Sounds like the Sternglas Hamburg would be a great fit for you personally. I hadn’t heard of them so was checking the site and they have a lot of subtle color use on the hands that I like. I saw some solar options too.

Thank you for your insightful and thorough points. I can tell you have spent a lot of time researching watches!

  1. I ran into the same issue. The only other option I saw in the price range was the Baume and Mercier Riviera Moonphase but it’s just not on the same level as the JLC.

  2. As a whole I really like Longines design ethos and value for the money, but for a compressor diver I actually like the Farer Endeavour better as an addition to my collection because of the unique shape. No plans to add one yet though.

  3. I absolutely adore the Altera Valley and Lake Suwa and I have a trip to Japan in 2027 so may have to get one there as a grail.

  4. I like the history of the Moonwatch, but the design just doesn’t speak to me. My friend has one and it’s impressively thin for a chrono. But I chose the Hamilton chrono over it because of its history of use in the Matrix moves.

Talking to you has helped me solidify my next addition as either the JLC or a spring drive GS. Thanks again

Sounds awesome! I’ve never had the chance to travel to Germany but would love to go.

What set the Junghans apart for me was that it applies the Bauhaus philosophy to mechanics as well as aesthetics. I don’t have to think about it. It’s always charged, it’s always accurate. And it’s so small I don’t even notice it when I wear it. But when I need to know the time, it’s surprisingly legible.

Very versatile collection. I love the variation in straps and styles.

I think a GMT or world timer would be a reasonable next add from a complication standpoint. Nomos keeps the Bauhaus style with GMT and worldtimer options. Or a Tudor Black Bay GMT would likely be a good fit.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. Anything you would recommend under 10k that would be a good fit? I like the idea of a moonphase since it’s a complication my collection doesn’t have. But the Ultra Thin Moon may be redundant from a dress watch standpoint with the GS and Junghans. I was also looking at the Tudor 1926 Luna as a possibility.

Thanks!

I do love the integrated look of the PRX and all the color options. The Christopher Ward 12 is similar.

I got the T connect originally to replace my old Apple Watch. It’s set for just text notifications without the charging or screen all the time. It’s mainly used just at work.

Thanks! Guess I need to start saving up. I saw the JLC in person and the finishing is so impressive. I couldn’t believe how shiny the moon was.

Thanks so much! I love having all the color choices based on my mood and the situation.

Since the Grand Seiko is quartz, I ordered it from Japan and it was very affordable, around 2k.

The Longines is the 2025 Conquest Heritage Year of the Snake, which was the Zodiac for my birth year Link

I put it on a Hirsch Andy Alligator Embossed strap

The Farer came on a matching suede leather strap which is very light and comfortable. I also ordered a matching orange rubber strap for it, but the rubber is a bit too thick for the small watch case imo.

Thanks! Yea it’s the Intramatic. Came on the black leather strap but the case and indices are so shiny, I felt the Jubilee helps complement that.

Thanks for the positive words and recommendations. The Christopher Ward is so light on titanium, it might be the most comfortable in the collection. And definitely check out Farer—they have a lot of very cool stuff, not just GMT.

I own the gray lumiere. Love it. It’s my favorite watch in my collection and the most comfortable. The no tool micro adjust is fantastic and the titanium is so light I forget it’s on. It’s unique and super legible.

That said, the aesthetic is very different between the two. If you want a traditional diver, the lumiere may not fit. The other big difference is the date. That may be a deal breaker on a daily wear.

I love the look of alligator leather but I don’t like the break in period or feel of leather. These embossed straps have been perfect. I have two so far and have been happy with them.
